If JC played any of the 3 teams ahead of them on this poll, they would beat them. And no, I'm not being biased, that is the truth.

It is an honor to be one of the first to call "nonsense" on that statement.

If Dale or John wouldn't be nice by calling off the dogs--Highlands or CCH would beat Johnson Central by a 100 if they wanted to.

Sorry . . . . . . . but it is the truth.

That doesn't mean that Johnson Central isn't a very good football team--but Highlands and CCH are on a different level.

I honestly believe that JC is a solid team and hasnt played there best game yet BUT to say they would is to guarantee a win. I believe that JC could beat any of the 3 on any given night but it would have to take a perfect game out of the Eagles. But the beauty of it is if JC was to make it far enough to play Covington Catholic or Highlands then they would be coming to our house.

WOW!

Raceland 7th, after getting thumped by Lexington Christian?

And I doubt very seriously that there are nine Class A teams better than Newport Catholic.

And ... Warren East beat Somerset 28-25 and is ranked 9th in Class 3A, while Somerset is unranked in Class A.

Makes you wonder ...

You are the one who stated in an earlier post on another thread that the rankings were determined by your opponents wins & losses and schedule strength. That would justify your first statement.

I agree that the polls do not represent the top teams as they should be ranked.

I am so glad my opinion matters so much to everybody in northern KY.

Well, all JC has to do is win in the playoffs and they'll probably have a good chance to get there shot at 2 of the 3. We heard this last year and the Eagle went out in the first round.

You didn't hear me saying that, not that I wouldn't, but I joined in August of 06.

Maybe so but I don't believe it matters to most others though. :D

These two are jokes this week. Undefeated or no, Marshall County at #7 after their performance against Greenwood, and Apollo at #10 after their LAST SECOND win over Daviess County is a joke.

Marshall Co I can see...There style of play is ball control and that doesn't always lead to big blowouts, but, they are definately a very fundamentally sound team thats also pretty deep...I agree with you on Apollo...I could name at least 10 teams below them that shouldn't be...

No, it doesn't. The statement you are referring to was in reference to power ratings. This is the AP poll, which is voted on by media people.
In Class A, Holy Cross has lost 2 consecutive weeks and remains in the 4 slot. Bethlehem is undefeated and has beaten Holy Cross, and remains unranked.
To be fair, I think the AP poll is released on Monday afternoon ... this week, it would have been before Bethlehem beat Holy Cross.

I'm guessing next week's poll will reflect that.

I like Marshall County and I'm glad they are doing well, but I don't see any way that they should be ranked in the top 10. They certainly haven't beaten anyone prominent enough to merit a #7 vote.

I second that.

Good point, probably should have considered that.

FWIW, I think Mayfield should be above Bardstown, too.:D

Exactly right. Hope we learned a good lesson last year.

It has nothing to do with the fact that I am from Northern Kentucky . . . . .

It bothers me just as much when you pull the "world against the mountains" garbage. It isn't poor, poor pitiful Johnson Central . . . . . that is the same excuse that most of us have heard for years. And honestly--it is old--and BULL. Not all of us sit up here and look down our noses at the other parts of the state (especially when there are plenty of schools that drop the hammer on NKY every year).

The fact of the matter is that you were talking about Johnson Central. Highlands has already destroyed one of my favorite teams. And YES--Highlands could have won by 100 points if they wanted to.

The harsh reality of the situation is that the teams ahead of Johnson Central are significantly better. I wouldn't let that bother you so much. They are better than almost every other school in the state that plays football.
