Good point, probably should have considered that.

FWIW, I think Mayfield should be above Bardstown, too.:D

I would disagree. Most of the reasons Mayfield beat Bardstown last year are no longer wearing red and black. And it was my impression that Bardstown had more returning talent this season.

It is an honor to be one of the first to call "Nonsense" on that statement.

If Dale or John wouldn't be nice by calling off the dogs--Highlands or CCH would beat Johnson Central by a 100 if they wanted to.

Sorry . . . . . . . but it is the truth.

That doesn't mean that Johnson Central isn't a very good football team--but Highlands and CCH are on a different level.

I'll take that bet, and bet the farm. Hopefully one or the other can come to Johnson Central late in November and show us how to get slapped around like the Cincinnati teams slap the big, powerful NKy programs around. Those scores don't strike much fear.

The last time I checked--they got beat by Cincinnati teams. But by no means, did they get slapped around.

A wise man once said . . . . . be careful what you wish for . . . . . you may just get it.

And trust me--a team that routinely gets beat in the first round of the playoffs doesn't strike a lot of fear in a couple of teams that ARE IN THE RUNNING for a state championship EVERY year.

Again--the NKY argument is weak. It is a cheap cop out for you guys. We don't disrespect football in other parts of the state. You fail to realize that historical performance does mean something for certain programs. It wouldn't matter if Highlands and Cov Cath were from the moon . . . . it is what it is.

(What is this world coming to when I am actually arguing in favor of Highlands and CCH . . . . . .)

If JC played any of the 3 teams ahead of them on this poll, they would beat them. And no, I'm not being biased, that is the truth.

Have you seen any of the three teams ahead of Johnson Central play this year?

I admit I haven't seen JC play and don't begrudge any of the success JC is having, but they have played one team to date with a winning record, North Laurel. How would JC's record look if they had played Cincy Elder, Cincy St. X, Louisville St. X, Coumbus DeSales, Columbus Watterson, not to mention Beechwood, NewCath, Boone, and Dixie? I haven't seen Bowling Green play, but don't see anyway JC could stay within 3 tds of either CovCath or Highlands.

We appreciate the support, quickslick!

No, we lost everybody. This year Bardstown has put all new bullets in the gun, which makes the success a little more surprising to us.

All the Tigers ever talk about this year is not gettin' the big head because look what can happen at Mayfield, look what can happen at Mayfield, look what can happen . . . You've given us a complex.:D

Care for some more sand for those bags of yours?:D

Everybody? Those weren't all seniors out there on the field last season.

He's already used a full beach's worth ...

LOL you've lost it...how many wins does JC have vs. the teams ranked below them??? Uhhh, ZERO or close to it???

That is as big a "homer" statement as I've ever seen in my five years on this board, and that's saying something.

JC has a good team and IMO they are the top team in the mountains and if the Eagles matchup with any of the 3 teams ahead of them in this poll then I would be pulling for JC hard but Highlands, CovCath, and/or Bowling Green would beat the Eagles pretty easy IMO. Those 3 are the cream of the crop in AAA this year IMO and there is a big drop off after those 3...just my opinion.

Again the Eagles have a great team this year and I so happy to see them turn their program into a winning program...good luck to the Eagles this year and I hope you guys have a nice run in the playoffs and win a region title.

Dude, I'm a Paintsville fan, but please, JC beating Highlands??? You aren't helping your cause any at all by saying stuff like that.
