It depends. Obviously I'm a huge Disney guy so that's what I put. The beach is not really my thing unless it is an all inclusive type. I'm not a fan of the crowded tourist type beach destinations. But outside of Disney give me a cruise around Europe everytime. That's where the fun is at.

Heading to Florida Friday most of my time will be spent at the beach or at pool. 2 of my cousins both have pools. Inlet fishing and fresh water fishing in the everglades and my son is going to the Hurricanes football camp. Should be a busy fun week in South Florida.

Mountains. In a cabin. On the porch. By a stream. Cool mountain breeze. Woodford Reserve in hand. My fine lady. My dog.

Beach is OVERRATED!!!

I prefer the staycation. Out year at FedEx goes from June 1 to May 31st, so I took 5 of my 6 weeks of vacation this year during softball season, already have 5 weeks scheduled for next April and May.

I voted other, because I didn't read the OP before voting. But, even if Stay cation isn't allowed, I vote other. I love exploring big cities.

Some of our best vacations are where we spit time in a city and then head out.

Boston then Cape Cod was one.

San Francisco then Lake Tahoe.

I can't do a beach vaca every year. My wife and daughter could but not me especially after June in the south. Too hot.

I really love architecture and history. I love examining the facades of homes in historic neighborhoods, for example. In Savannah, I had a great day at the river and exploring all the old warehouses then going to the historic neighborhoods and exploring the squares, for instance. I can do a beach for about a day. That's it.

We hit Savannah when we go to Hilton Head or St Simons Island, GA.

One I can afford...

Haven't been on one in 5 years.

I like those styles of vacations. Similar to things we've done.

As long as I am with "The Boss", I am on vacation.

We have been very, very lucky in traveling to each and every state in the USA except Alaska (hopefully next year) in our upcoming 47 years of marriage. We have done, Beach, Amusement Parks, etc, etc, etc and as long as we are together and away from the rest of the world together, it's the best vacation.

Will be traveling to see my Daughter and Son-in-law new home this year and then do a little sight seeing with them for about a week around their neck of the woods. Looking very forward to it.

I'm a little neurotic and I really struggle with the idea of a vacation in general. I keep my phone close by and check in at work 3-4 times per day. I can't let myself cut loose. That said, my favorite vacation was a cruise because I was basically forced to cease contact with home.

I chose beach in the poll, though. That's what I almost always do because my wife loves it.

You need to check out South Beach one time lol.

Gatlinburg, family, friends, and football games. That is what my vacations are centered around, usually. This year, though, we may try Nashville for few days, but Gatlinburg is still an option.

Going to the beach is a staycation, so I can't do that, though I don't go to a beach unless I have a reason other than hanging out on a beach.

"I want to see mountains again, Gandalf. Mountains." Maybe a little lake. This looks about perfect to me...
