No but I have Amazon Prime so I figure I can stock up with free, 2-day shipping once the war breaks out.

What exactly should I be stocking up?

Meds

Water

Batteries

Ammo

Dry foods like beans and rice

Is Kroger going to shut down if we're in a war?

Also, why would I buy ammo?

If it ever gets to a point where I NEED to stock up on those items they can go ahead and take me. RIP. Unless Northern Kentucky is the battle ground I'm not really sure what I need to prepare for?

No one is prepared if true war breaks out. With today's weapons, it won't matter.

I have a bayonet on my musket. I've got this.

I think it is more likely to have some kind of regional/temporary disaster (at least I hope). We are not well enough prepared, I know that. We need more water...we did stock up on food and candles.

In the 1982 Christmas blizzard in Colorado where we lived, roads were closed for days, and the store shelves were literally bare. We had stocked up as we had planned on company, who didn't make it, so we were feeding neighbors as much as we could for a few days who hadn't been so lucky to stock up before the unpredicted storm.

Word has it that our state emergency preparedness is woefully short, so we need to take our security in our own hands.

It's like a hurricane for us. I'll restock my canned goods, dried good, gas, and ammo. Same as every year.

Yeah, Kroger will be raped clean. When there is nothing left then thats when people go out scavenging and taking what isnt theirs. Looting and robbing. thats where the ammo comes in to play.

Exactly. If a world war gets bad enough that I have to worry about it here, then it's over for us anyway. No amount of prepping or stocking ammo is going to save anybody, regardless of what they tell themselves.

So there won't be any more distribution? All production of essentials/food will cease immediately?

I've got a freezer full of food. I do grow my own veggies in the summer, and could raise chickens for eggs food if necessary. Unless my house was destroyed, I could survive a short term disaster. If war broke out and bombs started dropping, not much I can do to stop it.
