Coach Michael Menifee told the team today that he was leaving to take the girl's basketball position at LCA.

 

Danville is losing some good guards in Alyvia Walker and Zenoviah Walker, but will return one of the best players in the region in Ivy Turner.

Losing a great coach in Menifee. I think they shouldn't have to look far in bringing in a new coach, Judie Mason Or Clifford Berry would be my top two choices.

not so sure I would have left Danville for LCA. That program has never really recovered since shortly after winning State. In fact, I remember them having difficulty putting a Freshman & JV team together to field 3 full teams.

Havent been the same since Coach Seamands left. He is now at Wess Jess and turned that program from nothing to 20 win season in 3 years.

Yea might be a good time to leave. Danville was small but really fast this past year with the Walker girls and Turner. Saw them against West Jess and the speed on the floor with those girls and Anna Lee from West was unreal.

I'd be shocked if Coach Mason had the slightest interest in this job. I'd be interested in seeing if Clifford Berry applies. For what lies ahead for Danville he'd be a great choice to weather them through this rebuilding phase and their middle school group appears to be strong. I think he would be a fantastic choice if he wants the job.

I agree 100%. I would love to see Coach Berry get this job. He seems perfect for the job to me. Especially since he knows what the immediate future holds.
