Has this fella been properly vetted? Do we really know that he is a "2013 chemical attack survivor" just because he says he is? How do we know he isn't a member of ISIS? It's probable that he is a member of ISIS since ISIS is fighting Assad as we are. It is true that members of ISIS have suffered from chemical attacks at the hands of Assad and that some civilians joined ISIS after being victims of chemical attacks from the hands of Assad.

There seems to be a lot of people (even on here) who are cheering for Trump to fail on this situation. Do we really want our President to fail on this? Think about it.

I do know that I read a CNN article this morning in which they had a paragraph in it in which Assad declared us partners with ISIS. I was talking about that statement with a friend and went to link the article to send it to him and they edited out that paragraph along with another statement from a terrorist group that welcomed US attacks on Assad because it benefits them. I was laughing at how fast CNN puts it out there and then edits it out. Good old CNN. :no:

Yeesh. This is where my cold heart questions whether anything over there is worth saving.

LOL to be fair, Rand Paul doesn't even know what he was talking about, considering he had to be corrected numerous times today about the constitution that he thought Trump violated. He doesn't like Trump and let that get in the way of thinking clearly.

He can "say" whatever he wants.. It doesn't chance the fact that he was wrong when he said that it was illegal and unconstitutional.

I am going to abstain from debating the validity of the missiles. Not smart enough to talk geopolitics and we don't know what the long-term plan is.

 

What I am extremely cynical of is motive for the President. I don't buy that these dreadful pictures changed his mind. This is nothing new. 10s of thousands of kids have died over the years from Syrian attacking their own citizens. Do we think the President didn't know that? If he didn't, is that comforting? Is it comforting that pictures motivate the president?

 

And this wasn't just 2013. He said it during 2016 when campaigning against HRC. NOW he is bothered ?

 

I cast a jaundiced eye his way. This feels like a "look over there" decision to get us away from Russia and low approval ratings.

 

So this move could be the EXACT move we need to make. I'm just not buying the reasoning used by POTUS.
