Open Job: Dixie Heights

Featured Replies

Does he go by Roddy? This is the first I have ever seen it.

With what Newport has coming back would Snapp want to leave Newport?

Yep.

Roddy is a good guy.

HUGE understatement :thumb:

I think Dixie is a job that will have coaches with head coaching experience applying. It will be tough to give the job to someone without head coaching experience.

But Roddy has been involved in the program and I think he can step-in and be a boost for the program and be better than Chev because he knows basketball, he's younger so I think he understands today's game more, the players relate to him more, and I think he can motivate the players more and that they'll better respond to him.

Some other names that come to mind are Sam Elsbernd and Chris Stapleton who are both looking for that first Varsity HC gig.

I talked to Sam this morning and he isn't applying at Dixie. Said he may pursue other HC jobs if they become available but Dixie will not be one of them.

Would think its Roddy's for the taking if he wants it.

However I did hear Chris Stapleton would apply.

I'd expect a lot of good assistants in NKY to apply and a few head coaches as well.

Wasn't Stapleton turned away from the Scott job? Think Dixie would hire him? He's fiery. Could light a spark...

Why wouldn't Dave Beezold apply? If he does and with open enrollment wouldn't they be unbelievable really quick?

How about Ben Franzen, JV coach at CovCath? Up and comer in the NKY coaching ranks.

I was told he is happy in Park Hills....

The Frommeyer hire may have had more to do with continuity and familiarity more than anything else...

I do not think he's there yet...good young guy, but certainly don't want to ruin something that can be really good if given time.

Of course Stapleton was also an assistant with Scott under Carr and is a teacher in the building.

Does northern kentucky have open enrollment?

Does northern kentucky have open enrollment?

Kenton County does.

When it comes down to it... Does this job belong to Stainforth if he wants it?

Congrats to my old buddy on his retirement, haven't talked to him lately and didn't know he was retiring.

Stapleton was late to the party...Frommeyer had and continues to have the longevity and relationships to keep a program on track under the circumstances. No shade to Stapleton, he's solid all the way around, I just think this was the best option for several reasons.
