Let's Talk "Bowling Green Massacre"

Featured Replies

So there was no massacre, but there WAS an arrest of two Iraqi refugees back in 2015 that foiled their plot to send sniper rifles, Stinger missiles, and other various items intended for use in IED's to be used to kill US soldiers in Iraq.

One of the two refugees also confessed to having used IED's "hundreds of times" in Iraq, and confessed to having personally blown up tanks and to have participated in attacks that killed US military personnel.

Kellyanne Conway has since asserted that she had meant to say 'Bowling Green terrorists' rather than 'Bowling Green massacre'.

So was Conway guilty of saying the wrong thing here? There was certainly no massacre in Bowling Green.

Or was she guilty of out and out fabricating a story, as most liberal pundits and liberal-minded social media commentators would seem to think?

She probably misspoke. But the new administration has demonstrated numerous times in its short stint in power that the truth of a statement is much less important than the results of that statement.

Yeah, like someone posted today. Obama said he visited all 56 states.

Nobody thinks she fabricated. Everyone and their mother knows she made a mistake. That doesn't mean people are not going to pounce on her mistake and make it out to be something the Administration was fabricating.

It was a mistake, but I think she really had no ideal before someone told her. Regardless, the social media surrounding this massacre have been comedic gold today. Among my favorites is the Go Fund Me account for the victims. :lol2:

I thought she was talking about Bowling Green's win over Pulaski County 70-22 in the 5A state finals.:sarcastic:

#NeverForget

This has been a funny story to follow. NPR and Ky Public Radio did a good piece on it that's running during All Things Considered today.

"One shudders to think how bad the Bowling Green Massacre would've been if not for the heroic intervention of Fredrick Douglass."

Yeah, like someone posted today. Obama said he visited all 56 states.

57.

I think she misspoke or didn't really know. Doesn't matter to me. Mistakes are made. How she handled it is my problem? Instead of saying the media does this all the time and blaming others. She would gain my respect by saying something like. I just made a mistake. I apologize and will try and be better informed when bringing up things in the future. I hope this was not offensive to anyone.

Trump and his staff really need to do this instead of pointing fingers elsewhere. I still say id he is undone, it won't be his policies but the arrogance and believed invincibility of their actions that will bring them down. People eventually want someone to step up and take responsibility when wrong inaccurate, etc.

His policies and POTUS EO's are no surprise, I thought he and/or some of his staff might be humble at times. Not gonna happen it looks like.

“Please take a moment of alternative silence for the victims of the Bowling Green massacre."

In theory what you are saying logically would apply under most normal circumstances, however his cult-like zombie supporters have already displayed that no matter what they will defend him and his people whether or not what they do or say makes any bit of sense.
