Great game played by the Panthers tonight..and a tremendous goal line stand in the last minute of the game to clinch the victory and ruin the Bellevue Tigers Homecoming and Stadium Reunion Celebration. Excellent game turned in by QB Jared Rouse, Cory Gilbert, Braden Mills, Kyle York and Paul McGlasson as well as the entire Ludlow team. Ludlow has now beat Bellevue 3 out of the last 4 years. Congratulations to Coach Borchers and his staff as well.

Saw my friend BigZig at the game and he wished to thank the Bellevue community for the Fireworks show after the game. He said it was the 1st time he had been to an opposing teams field where they lost and celebrated the other teams victory with that type of show..

Wow first off what a GREAT GAME!!! Ludlow pretty dominated the whole game even though the game score doesn't show it. On the very first play of the game Ludlow scored a touchdown to go up 7 to 0 just 12 seconds into the game. Coach Borchers used Bellevues very aggresive style and emotion they had going into the game against them by running a beautiful play action play and the whole Bellevue team came flying up and Elijah Mays was wide open down field and easily ran in for the touchdown after the pass from Jarrett Rouse. Bellevue then ended up going straight down field to answer with a touchdown of their own. Ludlow and Bellevue then both went on to score again shortly after that to make it a 14 to 13 Bellevue lead. But Ludlows defense went on to really shut down Bellevues offense for most of the rest of the game. Ludlow droved the ball all night on Bellevue and got down to the 4 yard line on 4th down and there was a pass interference in the end zone that didn't get called that I think the Bellevue fans would admit that it should have been a flag. Ludlow then however went on to get the ball back and drive down the field and got to the 10 but then time ran out and it was half.

In the second half Ludlow once again drove close but self destructed. But then late in the third quarter Ludlow drove the ball down and scored to go up 19 to 14. With 6 minutes left in the game Ludlow was again had droven the ball to the Bellevue 10 yard line but ended up fumbling and Bellevue brought it back to the 50 yard line. It was then when the drama took place. Bellevue finally actually got something going on offense again and drove the ball down to the 2 yard line with under 2 minutes to go and first a goal. Bellevue then got it to pretty much the half yard line to make it 4th down. Bellevue ran a play up the middle and Ludlow stuffed him about a couple of inches away from the goal line to get the ball back. Ludlow then got the ball back at the inch yard line with less than a minute left and Bellevue had no timeouts left so Ludlow just ran out the clock to win it.

This game ended up coming down to last play but this game really should not have been that close because Ludlow really dominated the game and did what they wanted on offense but just had their own mistakes once they got to about the 10. This was just an awesome game, and I wanted to say Congratulations to whole team on a great game!!!

GO PANTHERS!!!

I also want to take some time to talk about the coaching tonight. All people talked about in the prediction thread was how Bellevue might when this game because of coaching since they have coach Eckstein and Ludlow has a rookie coach. But Coach Randy Borchers completely outcoached coach Eckstein tonight. Coach Borchers seemed to be a step ahead of him all night long. And it was shown on the very first play of the game, when Ludlow used Bellevues aggresivness against them and ran a beautiful play action pass that led to a wide open touchdown. It was also shown in Ludlow just being able to move the ball at will tonight against that Bellevues defense. And also the defense of Ludlow only allowing Bellevue to only have really three good drives.

The better team just won tonight and there is nothing else to really say about it. Bellevue played as good of a game as they probably could have played. They had no turnovers and even made Ludlow turn the ball over but it still wasn't enough. Ludlow was just a step ahead of them all night long. So I just wanted to say good job to Coach Borchers and the staff because they put a great game plan together and just out coached the Bellevue staff.

This now means Ludlow has beaten Bellevue 3 out of the last 4 years. So once again Congratulations to Coach Borchers on a great win and a great job of coaching, he definitely has this team in the right direction!!!

This loss at home means Bellevue has dug themselves an big ole hole to get out of playoff-wise.

Ludlow gets an early playoff boost and has Dayton at home.

It was a very boring game, but a very evenly matched game. And I was shocked the tigers could not score at end.

Thought it was an excellent game and I agree with futurecoach a game that was pretty much dominated by the Panthers especially in the 2nd half. Had Ludlow not fumbled late in the game to actually give Bellevue their last opportunity to go ahead and if Ludlow had a FG kicker they were confident in then Ludlow wins this game by double digits. From the 2nd qtr on the Tigers seemed to have a little or no offense particularily after #4 (runningback, can't remember name) went out of the game with some type of knee injury. Good Win for the Panthers and a win that keeps them in race for the Playoffs.

It was a very boring game.

sounds like a good defense show by both teams, I will take a low scoring defense battle over a shootout game anytime.:fight: Call me old school but defense wins ball games.

good win for ludlow, now just take care of the ball panthers and stop the turnovers!

Congratulations Panthers on a big win.....from what I've seen and now heard, the best team escaped with a victory tonight despite some missed opportunities. Maybe thats a dose of the medicine to help cure the verbal diarrea:D

Congrats to Ludlow. This one shocked me a little.

This game should have been Bellevue 20-Ludlow 19... I caught the last quarter and a half and after a great scoop of a fumble by Ross (if he had Lincoln Adams wheels he would have been gone) the Tigers just manhandled the Panthers on their way to a sustained 65 yrd drive. ONly problem, they couldnt punch it in with 4 plays inside of 8 yrds.

Congrats to the Panthers for their goal line stand, you can thank the Bellevue coaching staff for running the same freakin play 3 times in a row for that. Ludlow stacked 11 guys in the box and I can see running a couple of up the gut attempts but on 3rd down and 3 from the goal line, that would have been a perfect time to run a bootleg or sweep to get to the pylon. Bellevue's QB is athletic enough and fast enough to get their if he gives a good fake.

I saw limited action so I cant speak to how Ludlow supposedly dominated the whole game but I can say they are very lucky to escape with a victory.

Very impressive fireworks show after the game to cap off the stadium ceremony...I am sure they werent celebrated the loss.

Ok so your sayin that ludlow is lucky to escape with a victory simply because Bellevue couldnt score inside the 5 on one possesion? Three times Ludlow had the ball inside the ten on three different possesions and didnt get in the endzone.. In my opinion Bellevue is lucky this game wasnt a blowout..

What shocked you? Did you think Ludlow should have won by more? :sssh: :D

:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: I think the final stats show that Ludlow had 450 yards for the game, and Bellevue only had 200 yards.

Ok if you want to go there then the game should have been Ludlow 47 Bellevue 20.... Yeah Bellevue probably should have scored there at the end I mean they had a nice 50 yard drive to get to goal line. And then had 4 tries from within the 4 yard line and not the 8 yard line. Then they had the ball probably inside the half yard line for that 4th down play and just got stuffed.

You want to talk about mandhandling people on drives just look at the stats Ludlows offense manhandled the Bellevue defense all night long. Ludlow had 450 yards for the game Bellevue had just 200. So from the looks of that Ludlow's defense mandhandled Bellevue's offense as well most of the game.

Talk about that last drive so much, but Ludlow 4 times had the ball within the 10 and didn't score. The first one where they didn't score wasn't really there fault because there was a pass interferene in the end zone that didn't get called and the Bellevue fans would even probably admit that it should have been a flag. Then right before half Ludlow had drove the ball down there again but just ran out of time. Then early in the third quarter Ludlow drove rigth back down to the 10 again, but then Ludlow had a little confusion in the backfield between the QB and runningback on a handoff that cost them about 5 yards to stop that drive. Then at the end of the game where Ludlow had drove all the way down field on Bellevue when they had to get a stop but couldn't stop them. Ludlow was at the 10 yard line again where Cory Gilbert just never had a handle of the ball from a hand off and fumbled and was not caused by a Bellevue defender knocking it out or anything. So Bellevue never did much to stop Ludlow, Ludlow stopped themselves in this game.

Im also glad you mentioned the coaching, because that is all we Ludlow fans always had to hear about was how great of a coach Eckstein is and he is a good coach. But we have a great coach here at Ludlow as well, and he completely outcoached Eckstein last night.. SO hopefully all this talk about Bellevue being the third best football program in this district comes to a rest because this is now the 3rd time in the last 4 years that they have lost to Ludlow...

So I think next time before you get on here talking about a team manhandling the other team and saying they should have won, maybe you should watch the whole game actually before you say stuff like that. Because anyone who was there for the whole game knows that Bellevue was pretty lucky to even have a chance to win the game at the end. Because Ludlow was by far the better team and should have won by a pretty comfortable margin. Bellevue had there chance and all the momentum and only had less than 4 yards to go in 4 plays and they couldn't do it, the Ludlow players stepped up and made the plays. So the team that should have won did win, the only thing about this game is that Ludlow should have won by more than they did, but oh well a win is a win.
