But keep in mind the same kids will be playing for ludlow varsity next year and so on...so if Bellevue beat those kids this year, it would make sense to say that they have a really good chance to beat Ludlow next year and so on. Also even though Ludlow did win this year, its amazing that Bellevue still had the opportunity to win. This is testament to Bellevue's toughness and Ludlow lack of ability to put the game away.

 

You were be seeing many of the kids from Ludlows JV next year because most of their skill position players are playing Varsity and not JV. So really that JV game has no bearing at all for future context, because it wont be those exact JV teams. There will be a big mix of players at the Varsity level...

 

I wouldn't say anything about Bellevues toughness because as Deepthreat just said Bellevue had pretty much given up it looked like in the 4th quarter. Ludlow started a drive at around their own 30 yard line and Bellevues defense needed to step up and make a play, but they aloud Ludlow to drive all the way down the field and taken alot of time off of the clock. Then when Ludlow fumbled it was a bad exchange on the handoff and he was bobbling the ball and lost it. The only thing the Bellevue defense did good was pick up that fumble. Which by the way they had two lead blockers for the guy running it back and they aloud the Ludlow player to catch up and make the tackle.

 

It really has to do with the lack of ability for Bellevue to be able to score from 4 yards out in 4 plays with the whole game on the line. They had gotten beaten down all game and they were almost handed the game, but their lack of ability to be able to score on Ludlows defense with the game on the line cost them.

 

The better teams make the plays when the game is on the line, and Ludlow stuffing Bellevue 4 times at the goal line shows who wanted it more and was the better team.

I agree pnthr4life...Bellevue has a good core of kids coming back and even in my days of playing ludlow, it was always a good hard hitting game. I know that part of the game will never change. I also know that just because Bellevue won a JV game doesn't mean they will dominate this rivalry for the next few years. I meant that it will give Bellevue a chance. I always look forward to what I have heard people call the "river Rat" Bowl. :banana:

 

I will agree here that these game are always hard hitting, I know these were some of the funnest games to play in. I just glad we beat them in the 03 season my senior year, so this way I ended my career against Bellevue on top.

Call me crazy but i think Bellevue can still make the playoffs if they can pull off wins over HC, NCC and Beechwood :jump:

Oh ya they did. And they play them again soon, so Ludlow will lose to Bellevue again before next year IMO :ylsuper:

:laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: You're killing me..Bellevue loses to HC, NCC, Beechwood and Dayton to go along with your 3rd loss in 4 years to Ludlow and I think you will probably get the better of Bracken Cty. Add it up and that leaves you with 1 win and 5 loses in the District and no trip to the playoffs this year for the Tigers.

Yeah some maybe but its not like its the whole JV teams that will be playing Varsity.. Ludlow returns alot of their skill position players next year including their QB who ran who threw for 200 yards and ran for 100 yards against Bellevue last week...So yeah if you want to think just because the JV won that Bellevue would win next year go right ahead, because I think you will be in for disappoinment again next year then...
