Quebec City mosque shooting: At least four reportedly killed

Featured Replies

The terror suspects were identified as Mohamed Khadir and Alexandre Bissonnette.

The attackers were students at Universite' Laval, a school in Quebec, a source close to the investigation told Radio Canada, saying one was Moroccan. Police said the suspects were not on their radar.

Per CBC News, only Bissonnette has been detained as a suspect. The other was sought as a witness.

Thanks for the update Getslow.

If this is accurate, that was some monumentally bad reporting to include the person with the Arabic name as a suspect.

To be sure the rush to get info out there caused accuracy to suffer. Don't it always?

I think the initial police reports was that they were looking at two suspects, so that didn't help anything.

Both were detained, then the Royal Canadian Mounted Police made an announcement that only one was being held as a suspect. Since the RCMP didn't distinguish between the two, at least to the CBC's credit they pulled both names from coverage until it could be confirmed that Bisonnette was the one being held as suspect.

Thanks for the update, I saw both names on multiple Canadian sites before I posted them.

Love how the media and Canadian PM tries to blame Islamaphobia on this.

Seems the killer was Muslim.

The media is going to try to paint Trump as reason for this somehow.

Or blame Islamaphobia.

Starting to look like Islamaphobia is the case.

One of the articles I read said he associated with "white nationalist" groups.

Gonna get worse before it gets better.

Dang, where are the usual terrorist posters and Muslim bashers. This is just as outrageous.

They were on page one when they picked out the wrong name of the two given.

I don't get why a shooter that walks into a place of worship doesn't get the same condemnation, generalizations, wall building, etc. conversations as a terrorist that is a radical Muslim gets when he does the same in a, let's say mall.

Couldn't be because this was a mosque? or could it.

They all are deplorable and awful. I feel for those innocent victims and their families as much as I do any. Seems to be a double standard from the usual that condemn terrorists, which this guy was.

I condemn this guy for killing innocent people while at a place of worship. It takes a real wacko or coward to do this. Not sure what they do in Canada but hope he gets same thing.

Could not agree more...
