Good for you and you're a better person for it. The president doesn't have to be a perfect person, just the perfect person for the job. So while you are complaining about a private conversation "that also you have partaken in similar convo to someone in your lifetime" he'll be getting more done to help you in 100 days than the last 16 years. So whether you are onboard or not is irrelevant. Like I said there are people who would refuse to work with him anyway, you may be on that list or not, it doesn't matter. He's not going to bend over backwards to personally please anyone. He's going to go to work instead of trying to win a popularity contest. I don't care about his personality, I care about a leader getting things done. You can continue to dwell on the small insignificant things. Feelings have no place in politics.

 

I do care about his personality. I care about it because it directly affects his relationships with people whom he needs to get things done. Like I said...that style can be effective in the short term. But in the long term it leads to issues. If he's constantly alienating people simply because they don't agree with him, he's not going to be an effective leader. And like it or not he is going to have to please some people to keep his job...namely the ones that just voted for him in the nations biggest popularity contest. And if you add up enough "small insignificant things" (though advocating sexual assault I wouldn't term as small) that bother enough people, you end up with a big problem.

I don't see anybody here whining. But yes there are still some folks upset out there in the world. But listen to their message...understand where they are coming from and what they are hearing/have heard that's behind their protest. And I'm not talking about the select few who are protesting violently....once they started damaging property and assaulting people, they lost the right for their voice to be heard. And none of that requires needing a "cup check"...again, this alpha male garbage is old and dated. We aren't a bunch of animals, and really society needs to move past this stuff. It shouldn't be a surprise that there are women out there protesting with that sort of talk still being prevalent.

Point of the tread is I've been hearing since Trump has been elected people would lose rights/freedoms, we would revert back to years ago. I don't see that happening, but others do. We shall see.

Can't say I've ever been in a coping room, although I do often like to have my dog near me after I've had a bad day. Personally, I don't need a coping room, and I'm betting 95% or more of the country doesn't either. But hey, if that's what someone needs to get by, then by all means go for it. As long as you're a productive citizen who doesn't do anything to infringe on my rights, who am I to discredit what someone needs to do in their spare time to get by, whether it's color, cry, pet a dog, or drink a 6 pack of beer. And what you think of them isn't really important either. And I'm certainly not going to go out of my way to call someone a snowflake or some other name, or point out how soft they are...I've got better and more important things to do besides tell someone how tough I am, or that I have a bigger set of stones or especially that life isn't fair. You don't have to be a tough guy, or throwback caveman in order to make it in this world.

 

So while I wouldn't visit a coping room to color...I'd rather lift weights or read, or maybe cook a nice meal, I have no problem if that's what someone wants or needs to do. What's it matter to you (or anyone else) if that's what someone wants to do??

No you don't have to be a caveman and go around bashing people over the head to get along in this world. I also don't want a snowflake in charge of the security of this nation either. Please realize that there are people out there that want to cut your head off. Kill you because of where you live and how you live. Appeasement does not work on these people so I don't want a weak minded or speaking guy in charge. The only reason we have not been attacked more is our projection of strength. That snowflake would not have gotten you anything but abuse where I grew up. All my fights were actually standing up for those being picked on, All. So while they were not able to defend themselves I guess they were happy to have someone who would fight for them. There are animals out there that prey on the weak and some stronger willed who defend it. This world is not at the point of everyone holding hands and singing a showtune. 99% of the people on the internet aren't the leader of our country. He's said things that would get me fired from my job. If he keeps alienating people he's going to have a very rough go, and people will continue to poke and provoke him to his detriment.

I realize this isn't utopia either. I've lived and worked in Philly and New York in some of the roughest neighborhoods. Ever work in a place that's been robbed at gunpoint?? Ever find a dead body in the dumpster behind your workplace? Don't think for a minute that I haven't seen and been in some rough situations. Yes, tough guys are needed to do the dirty work. And we need someone who isn't afraid to make tough decisions in charge of things. There's no denying that. What I have an issue with is the potshots, the insensitivity, and the making fun of the folks who aren't so tough. Extending your hand in friendship to those folks would mean so much more if you didn't spend so much time calling them names and questioning their manhood. It's also kind of ironic when you say you offer friendship to all, but yet spend a lot of posting energy speaking badly about the folks you consider weak. How long ago was his remarks about women on that bus? At some point we as a country need to come together because right now we're looking weak and divided. IMO that opens us up to attack and our grandkids will be speaking Arabic and the blame will be placed on the people burning and looting their home towns and the folks wearing vagina hats.
