This makes me think about older generations, like my grandparents, WWII era people who probably were a lot more like this than what followed.

 

This country got sensitive and soft with the "free love" movement of my parents generation (to be clear, they were not hippies, nor free love supporters...war hero's, yes...)

 

All the unnatural fear from those that somehow think the government is going to put them in camps is hard for me to get my mind around....I mean we haven't done that, so why would it happen now ? Where is the logic behind that ?

Outside of Abortion, I think President Trump will be "Left" of some of his supporters when it comes to rights for different groups.

Never asked or necessarily wanted him to be my buddy. I hope there aren't any issues, and even if there are, I'm quite certain I'll find a way to manage. However, I also hope that he becomes more tactful, and be less combative. Right now he's only doing a good job of being decisive and alienating large swaths of people, which will make his job more difficult to do. I want progress. Being a bully/alpha male isn't going to get it done. I learned that a long time ago.

Be honest, the people he is alienating were never going to work with him any way. They are entrenched in the fact that a republican won and it doesn't matter how nice Trump is to them. Either we get on with the countries business like MEN or we whine about feelings. Have you ever worked for a boss who you didn't appreciate his tack or style of management?

So only men can get along with the business that needs to be done?? It's that style of thinking that helps further the divide. To me these protests aren't about Republican vs Democrat. It's more about a guy who has been very devisive in his speech and manner. If you say "you can grab women by the______", and harp on their looks, it shouldn't be a surprise that some women aren't going to be happy with that. And yes I've worked for guys who lacked tact or were abrasive in their style....and it sucked. And while that style can work in the short term, it usually leads to bigger problems in the long term. I've been in management/coaching roles for over 20 years. And I've evolved from being that abrasive, tough guy and I'm much more effective now than I was then.

He did take away your freedom of being hired into the federal workforce today unless you are going into the military. He put a complete freeze on federal workforce hiring by executive order today.

Good for you and you're a better person for it. The president doesn't have to be a perfect person, just the perfect person for the job. So while you are complaining about a private conversation "that also you have partaken in similar convo to someone in your lifetime" he'll be getting more done to help you in 100 days than the last 16 years. So whether you are onboard or not is irrelevant. Like I said there are people who would refuse to work with him anyway, you may be on that list or not, it doesn't matter. He's not going to bend over backwards to personally please anyone. He's going to go to work instead of trying to win a popularity contest. I don't care about his personality, I care about a leader getting things done. You can continue to dwell on the small insignificant things. Feelings have no place in politics.
