sweet16
The T is assessed to the bench/coach and the coach has to sit the whole game. That is correct.
ky playmaker
Is there a jump ball or does opponent get possession? No jump ball. Opposing team is awarded ball at division line and arrow points opposite. Is it a bench technical assessed to the head coach or is it on the player? T counts as a personal foul for player who dunked and indirect to bench. Does it count as a personal foul also? Yes Teams have (generally) 5 minutes prior to a crew taking the floor...throw down all you want up to that point.....BTW, touching or grasping the rim is not required to be a "dunk".... What is required to be a dunk?
gchs_uk9
Perhaps the dumbest rule in Kentucky high school basketball. Is it just a Kentucky rule?
BirdBrain
What is required to be a dunk? the driving, forcing, pushing or attempting to force a ball through the basket with the hand(s).” A player does not have to touch the rim for it to be considered a dunk. Wireman
I love that the rims are sturdy and won't break before the refs come out or after the game tips. But they are preciously fragile during the 15 minutes when the refs come out :lol2:
BasketballJunkie3
It saves TONS of kids from embarrassment as the crowd starts walking in. I think they need a rule where clunky 4's and 5's can't shoot three's in warmups...some of those are a danger to society.
Wireman
Personally, I think they should put a trampoline by the goal and encourage dunking.

InItToWinIt
I got called for a missed dunk attempt my sophomore year in JV warmups at Campbell County. My coach making fun of me may have been worse than getting the T. I like how my sophomore year of college they changed the rules so that dunking is now permitted in warmups (at least in the NCAA). PurplePride92
I've seen some refs blow their whistle when entering the gym to let the teams know they are coming. Most teams usually have a coach keeping a look out for the refs also.
TAC
Perhaps the dumbest rule in Kentucky high school basketball. Very stupid rule. While the rule may be very stupid. One might ask, how stupid can a kid be to try to dunk when he knows he is not allowed?

It's a time honored tradition to miss as many dunks as you can before the refs come walking in.
