I love that the rims are sturdy and won't break before the refs come out or after the game tips. But they are preciously fragile during the 15 minutes when the refs come out :lol2:

It saves TONS of kids from embarrassment as the crowd starts walking in. I think they need a rule where clunky 4's and 5's can't shoot three's in warmups...some of those are a danger to society.

I got called for a missed dunk attempt my sophomore year in JV warmups at Campbell County. My coach making fun of me may have been worse than getting the T.

 

I like how my sophomore year of college they changed the rules so that dunking is now permitted in warmups (at least in the NCAA).

I've seen some refs blow their whistle when entering the gym to let the teams know they are coming. Most teams usually have a coach keeping a look out for the refs also.

It's a time honored tradition to miss as many dunks as you can before the refs come walking in.
