Walt's hitching post. 4 of us. Sitting at the bar since we didn't have reservations. Guy at the end of the bar gets this huge strip. We see it and are amazed. Us Guys do a dozen oysters. Gals do the crab leg and shrimp chilled cocktail. I doubled it up so we got some crab meat as well. We order the huge strip, divide it into 4 with the bonus scallop on each one.

Head to a York street cafe for dessert. Split a couple of them. Head over to Dueling piano bar at the Syndicate.

What a Great night.

Good Lord you eat TOO WELL! :lol2: I drove by you at the Syndicate on my way home from Keystone in Covington. Gourmet Mac N Cheese, who knew???

Enjoyed a good and reasonably priced meal with a high school football brother of mine. Entrees are literally served on small cast iron skillets with mac n cheese and assorted added ingredients. I highly recommend the "Black Sabbath."

If you like pilsner lagers the "Wussy" is solid ( not going to hear me say that again )!

And second week in a row i have enjoyed a chocolate chip brownie/vanilla ice cream dessert with very good coffee. All in with 20% tip was less than $59. Good atmosphere and very good customer service...:thumb:

Alright...so is the dueling piano bar better than Howl at the Moon, which was very solid back in the early 90s at Covington Landing??? @TAC

My favorite Keystone Mac and cheese is the "buffalo Springfield". By the way. Go there for lunch on Mondays. Mac and chases is half price.

As for the dueling pianos, just OK. Crowd was not huge. The 2 men that played were pretty good on the ivory and just OK on the mics.

Finished off date day by going to grandview tavern (had a Groupon) . Split the ahi tuna and had a steak black and blue salad. Stopped by knotty pine on the way home to book a couple of reservations. Tuesday is already booked solid. The 28th AKA Fat Tuesday is pretty close to being filled up.

Swung by Tom + Chee on the Levee yesterday for lunch. Had a gift card to use. Always forget about that place, but it's pretty solid stuff.

Got the Cheesy Bacon Goetta soup (really good) and the Flying Pig (turkey, bacon, gouda cheese, pickles). Wife got the Tom + Chee.

I've tried it twice. I'll never go back. Big hunks of grease. Not a fan at all. Love the idea of the different combinations, but they just didn't do it for me.

Applebee's last night. I had the pork chop cheese potato and garlic mashed potatoes. It was fair. Husband had French onion soup that was good. He tried the boneless wings but couldn't eat them.

At Madtree's event on Saturday, I had some Mac & Cheese with pulled pork from Beared Pig food truck. Really tasty.

Cracker Barrel. Pork chop 2 helpings of greens onions and apple butter. Husband had chicken and dumplings apples and pinto beans with cornbread.

Kinda like "jumbo shrimp" and "bipartisan cooperation".

Chipotle salad. Husband having loaded baked potato soup. For dessert, cheesecake with fresh blackberries.

Knotty Pine last night. Had to wait about a half hour after we arrived at about 6:30 to sit at the bar. Had a dozen Oysters on the half shell followed up by a pound and a half of Crawfish and a bowl of red beans and rice. Yummy, heading back next Tuesday!

Where is this?

Where is this?

Knotty Pine is located at 6302 Licking Pike, Cold Spring. It is right off of the AA highway before you reach Wilder. Fairly close to my house. Let me know if you ever head up!

Thanks

Wendy's again tonight. I had spicy chicken sandwich, baked potato with cheese sauce and bacon. Husband had a chocolate frosty.
