Why are you guys treating the non-secure portions of airports like their Fort Knox? What makes them any different than any other place?

 

I'm not. I just imagine that the same type of security at the exit as what is already in place in other places of the airport may help. Obviously if you can walk right into the baggage claim area without being screened, then that is a vulnerability. The shooter today realized that and used it to his advantage. It's not really that hard to understand.

Did I miss something here? This was an Air Canada flight that originated in Canada.

You can walk in the front door with out being screened. Heck some airports the entrance and exit is the same door. You can walk into the mall without being screened, Wal-Mart, high football game, amusment parks, dozens of other places mass amounts of people. Why is baggage claim in an airport different?

If you can't figure that out on your own after what happened today and how it happened, I don't know how to explain it to you. Remember, your not talking to an anti gun person, I'm about as pro gun as it gets. But there are ways to help fix what happened today, rather than just hand anyone that checks their gun and ammunition right back to them at the baggage claim. There are simple solutions to help fix the problem and honestly after thinking more about it, it could be done without making people travel without their ammunition.

At Fort Lauderdale airport they are 2 different places. When I first heard the news their is one exit/entrance down by the rent a cars right in the parking garage. Someone could walk right in and shoot the place up and be gone in seconds. Really scary. I been in this airport many times. Prayers to all the families.
