This is comedy reading this thread. Kiffin has coached 2 of the top 3 offenses in Alabama history. He has done it with 3 different qbs. He had a qb Saturday night who was playing like a deer in headlights and wouldn't let the ball go when they dialed up some shots and schemed some guys open. He did have a back go over 180 yards. The top 2 rushers were ineffective vs Washington. The huskies, #4 in the nation, they get schollys too. It's not HS and they don't run the power I. The defense occasionally takes things away. Looking at you Hellbird.

I think you have a great point but they seemed to run much more after Saban jumped all over him. That may have had more to do with it than Kiffin.

 

They always throw the ball early and run it late. That's been their MO all season long and for quite some time under Lane.

I'm with you. Alabama has never had a better offense than they did under Kiffin. Maybe Kiffins new job was interfering I don't know only Kiffin and Saban do. But Saban needed Kiffin to win the championship last year and just to make it to the playoffs the previous year. When Oklahoma cleaned Bamas clock in the Sugar Bowl Saban knew he needed to evolve to continue winning. Kiffin was that evolution. If Saban wants to reverse course and go back to his beloved power run game the whole time then they are in trouble against Clemson.

If Alabama doesn't throw the ball on first down on any of their first 3 1st downs...they may be in trouble. They will have to throw the ball some or Clemson can match them man for man up front and if not stop, slow down the run.

Exactly, watch any of the FunnyMaines videos, he starts everyone off complaining about throwing the ball too much...then gets happy when they start to run it.

I agree. Bamas defense is better than last years. But on offense they had Derrick Henry and Jake Coker was a much more proficient passer than Jalen Hurts (at least the last 2 games of the season last year) Bama needs 35+ points to beat Clemson. I'm not sold they can do it. Deshaun will spot them a TD with a pick 6, but can they find 28 points somewhere else.

I see this as more of a problem for Clemson's preparation than Alabama. All play callers are different. The offensive tendencies Alabama has to date may not hold up. I would assume Clemson is not happy about this change.

He said he and Sark will change roles. Sark will go to the sideline and call plays and they are checking to see if Kiffin can be in the both like Sark was the last game.

What role did Sark exactly have the last game? Just give opinions but have no override power? Seems sort of ridiculous to have Kiffin in that same role.

He was in the booth and able to relay what he was seeing to Kiffin. I'm sure this would help to have a second set of eyes. They worked together at USC so I'm sure they are on the same page as far as offense goes.

I just heard on ESPN radio that Saban put out a statement denying that Kiffin would be in the press box and that he has no affiliation to the school anymore in any fashion.
