Anytime a Defender in Open field has both hands near the Headgear with One close to Facemask there will be a Penalty. 10 times out of 10 this call will be made.... I guess 3 plays earlier when he unsuccessfully Tackled at the knees, he thought this was the Best tackling solution this time around. Right, wrong or indifferent Mike Mitchell was Entirely too high on this particular play.

It's Legal to Stiff Arm the Denfender "IF" he doesn't grab the Mask. Maybe he did maybe he didn't. That's a judgement by the Official. However the Defender's job is to Bring the Offensive player down...Correct? You will lose a Off setting penalty every time when the Defender is high like he was. Watch the replay, Mike Mitchell's right hand is on the Back of the helmet while his Left hand was indeed ingaged but maybe not grabbing the Mask. I personally saw what the Official saw. Facemask! What is Mitchell's intent here? Easy call!
