I know this coach has to be reading this. Or someone has to be telling him. Just wanted you to know coach a lot of people clicking the like button on my post. More than 10 have hit the" thank you" . Should be telling you that I'm not the only person who sees what is going on here.

I would like to say good luck to HC in their upcoming week at the Apollo in Owensboro.

I can not and do not travel very far from home so I'm hoping I will get the highlights from someone. Or more than Likely the low points is what I will hear.

I will be traveling with the team this week and will try to post updates as much as I can.

Holy Cross will play Warren Central on Tuesday at 5:00 pm.

As far as the team goes, I love this group of kids. They work hard in practice everyday (despite the 1-9 record) and are good teammates. At 1-9 everyone can see something isn't working. This team is good enough to win games and people inside and outside HC know that. It will be up to the coaches to make changes going forward and it needs to start this week in Owensboro. There is a lot of the season left to play and much to play for. The All "A" is wide open for any of 6 teams this year.

It would be a great Xmas gift to see the obvious changes made, but the recent history of this team doesn't provide me much hope.

That's obvious. His philosophy of making sure his son plays more minutes than anybody else is definately different than what they are you used to I'm sure. What is wrong with this coach at HC? How blind can a parent/ coach be? And what is with pulling a player for a mistake made, without giving them time to play thru it, adjust and over come? Yet his son plays 28 minutes a game and has 2 points (freethows) never made a shot, which is fine except what handful of shots he did take half were just shots that didn't need to be taken. He is a huge liabilty on defense! Mistake after mistake, yet plays 28 minutes. It's surprising this game was ever as closer as it was. What's the deal with number 35? You put him in, he is the only player to consistently box out, crash the boards and he gets what 3--5 minutes a game? Looks like he was pulled for giving up a basket after he ran the length of the for to defend 2 and everybody else was jogging along. Why not go deeper on the bench? What you are doing is not working obviously. It has been said many times that a definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, yet expecting a different result. Well coach, watching you coach this team is nothing short of insanity.

Daddy Ball at HC? Say it isn't so.

Expected score to be more of a spread. Did HC stay close most of the game?

Biggest spread was 12 I believe, was close most of the game

This game, this discussion, these players, illustrate a lot of what is good and bad about bluegrasspreps. Since the demise of the Enquirer and Kentucky post, there really is no media coverage to speak of about high school sports in northern Kentucky, and it is great that BGP fills that void. Unfortunately it also provides a platform to attack kids about how they perform, or sometimes to raise expectations to an unhealthy level. Caleb Jefferson is a talented player and a great kid, and I think he made a great decision to go to NCC because of the passion and basketball knowledge there. But I think the anonymous culture on BGP has made life more difficult, and probably has made basketball less fun, for Caleb and Nolan, and that's unfortunate.

I am by no means an "everybody gets a trophy" or "don't ever say anything bad that might hurt someone's feelings" kind of guy, but it does bother me that a 15 or 16 year old - heck sometimes even a 12 or 13 year old - might decide they don't want to play anymore because they don't want to face the fallout on BGP. And that happens, I promise you.

It's a tough balance, I know, but to me it is like pornography was to Justice Scalia .... I know a comment that goes too far when I see it.

Most BGPers draw the line near where I draw it .... Discussion about the game, the good plays and bad plays, even about the players, is okay if you keep in mind that the players are often very young men and women that are playing and competing because they love the game.

As a guideline I would suggest applying a modified golden rule before posting .... Don't say something about a 15 year old kid that you wouldn't want someone else to say about your own 15 year kid. That should keep it in perspective.

If we did we would be lying.

I don't disagree with what you are saying, but there is a bigger problem if a kid is going on BGP to see what people are saying about them. The worst thing a player can do is follow the sport boards to see what is being said about them. They should never in my opinion be on these type boards. This is for fans and they do sometimes post in appropriate comments, but players should stay off a board as it provides zero value.

Agree. Nothing good can come out of players being on here. Just as I tell kids that nothing good happens after midnight.

I do apologise if it looks at all like this was an attack toward a player. It is not. It is directed toward the COACH and that is it. His father is putting him in the position to be the focus of bad publicity. I wish him no ill will and nothing but the best for him in his future. I've been told he is a fine golfer. Maybe that road will take him places.

After talking with many parents, coaches and other players from other teams, and sitting back and watching this happen game after game, something need to be said! As a supporter of HC this is the first time I have ever had to call out a coach on his methods, and question his ethics.

Tough gig when you gotta deal with it at home and on the court.
