December 16, 20169 yr In all seriousness. For several successive Christmases, I got a science-related toy/kit. Telescope one year, chemistry set one year, geology/rock hunting kit one year, microscope one year. I loved that stuff; more than the toys I got.
December 16, 20169 yr I got a real drum set. Loved it. After playing for a few years just had to many practices, workouts and to much homework in Jr high to have time to keep working on my drum skills. Would love to get another set one day and mess aroumd on it.
December 17, 20169 yr Getting a curling iron when I was 12 years old! I’ll never forget my breathless joy when I opened that package! I had been asking for one for a while and my mom kept dismissing it; she and and older sister were totally fine wearing those torturous pink sponge curlers overnight. I just couldn’t do it. Thanks to me…. the girls in my family finally crossed the threshold into modern beauty products. LOL

LOL The sponge rollers were nowhere near as tortuos as the hard pink plastic rollers with the cap thingy that clipped over them, or the brush rollers you pinned in. With stick straight hair, my mom and aunts tortured the hell out of me till I was 15.
December 17, 20169 yr I remember when I was about 7 I got a couple of Tonka cars. My cousin and I had seen the "Built Tonka Tough" commercials so much that we took it as a challenge. These were metal Tonka cars about 8" to 10" long and we had them tore apart before Christmas Dinner.

After the curling iron Christmas…. my older sister immediately got a set of those hot rollers – I remember burning the hell out of my scalp/neck, etc. with those things.
