:confused: Are you sure your talking about the same teams as we are?

I've been hearing that some of L.C.'s starters have been talkin' smack, saying how there going to take out some of J.C.'s starters (names mentioned have been Grimm, Dials, Dillon and Ratliff, but he's already out). JC's will not come into this game overlooking Lawrence and I believe our defense has another dominating performance.

 

JC will have a few of their missing starters back this week. You know what bodes well for JC........ we still have not played a game with all of our starters in.

This is the worst excuse for bulliten board material created by somebody not even from the other school that I have seen in my many years on BGP!

These two teams might not care a whole heck of a lot for each other but they do respect each other and what each program brings to the table! This isn't even a rivalry game for either school for crying out loud!

Johnson Central's jv will get alot of playing time in this game. If the score is 45+ going into the 2nd half, JC's will get to rest its starters and let the jv get game experience. It will be a good chance for JC to build up the depth chart for later in the season.

I like the enthusiasm and support you have for your team but dont you think this is a little, no way, biased. I think that your glasses are tinted Black and Red.

Then the old asst. and head coach from East Carter (not McPeek) became an LC assistant and LC's old coach who had been successful in the past arrived. I assumed that the team would show no ill effects, but as I stated before they have been flat terrible since then. Do the kids not like the coaches or are the coaches afraid of making someone mad and don't practice them as hard as in the past? I do know that in the past one coach was really bad for becoming buddies with certain players and showing favortism (is this the problem)? I'm not trying to make anyone mad, I PROMISE!!! Just wanting in on some facts from Louisa! I know that football used to be everything in Louisa and I don't see how that could change. Every kid has had an uncle, cousin, brother, etc.. that has been a bulldog and has war stories to share. Usually this passion passes on to each generation but I guess all good things do come to an end!!! Good luck to each team and may the best team win!!!!!

There are several problems in Louisa that have hurt the program IMO. The schools have been a mess and that has caused a lot of trouble. Great players transferring, injuries that hit teams as bad as any team in the state, playing one of the top schedules in the state the past couple of years, poverty (which has led a lot of people out of Louisa and cost them some athletes). Probably one of the biggest factors was losing Eddie Wayne Michael as Super. He used to be a football coach and took great care of the program. Lawrence Co got by in the 90's by sheer guts and some very athletic kids plus some HUGE lines! I think they went through a spell where they didn't have the Dontae Wright's, Gerad Parker's, Jason Michael's, Fred Dean's, Mike West's etc of the world. Those guys are some of the top players this state has ever seen. The football program in Louisa means more than most people could ever realize to that communitty. Unfortunatly the Board Office hasn't done a very good job of getting coaches in the way they should. Some of the very best schools in the state have around 8-10 coaches in 3A. LC had 3-4 right before the school year started. To me that is a huge let down by the Administration there! The program is too valuable to the young men in Louisa to not invest more into it! There have been 27 kids to go on and get their college paid for by playing football since 1990. That is HUGE! They were the program of the 90's in that area and it personally kills me to see them going through the growing pains. I do think that it is only a matter of time though. The youth league is very strong. The kids coming into high school are as talented as they have had in a long time. This years team plays with a lot of guts whcih is what is needed right now. If they keep improving thoughout the year and keep that aggressive, never give up attitude then I think they will play a key role into getting things back on track. I know of too many people that care too much about the program to let it stay down for very long. The coaches work their tails off but it is an uphill battle with limited resources. Hopefully that problem is going to get better. I know I for one am going to push hard to start getting some of the people that love the program back to help the guys that are already there working their tails off.

USC went through a dry spell, Notre Dame went through a dry spell... it happens to great programs unless you are somebody like Trinity/X/Highlands. LC isn't on that level yet but they were a top team in the state in the 90's. This group still has a lot of kids that play their guts out and that is all you can ask for right now. They haven't even played their first District game and they open with the best team in the District so this season is far from over and being 30+ underdogs in one game is far from the end of the world!

They've won bigger games so it's not impossible! It's all in their attitude and if they hope to win or expect to win!
