Johnson Central @ Lawrence Co. Predictions

Featured Replies

Nothing against the bulldogs of Lawerence, but IMO this game shouldn't be close. JC has a very good team this year, and should put this one away early.

JC - 42

LC - 6

JC= 42

LC=7

I would like to see LC pull this one out but I just don't think its possible

Trimmer

I noticed last week vs. logan, wv that both teams didnt have as many cramps. Players are getting used to playing and the temperature isnt near as hot as what it has been. One thing I did like to see, the big fan JC has that sprays mist on the players. I'm sure somebody in Eagleville has a big heater for those cold games.

Coach Matney will take another step toward the district title.

I think that we are more of a sustained drive team this season. I love Grimm's running style, very hardnosed. Last year Ron's speed was a threat to break it every time. Grimm's not as fast, but much more durable. Grimm has broke a few big runs this season, but he's definately a more "power" runner than Ron was.

And then you've got big Blake Johnson. He's all power! Not much breakaway speed there.

Long drives, eat-up the clock and keep LC's offense on the sidelines. Thats what I'd like to see.

I agree with you. I absolutely love the depth and balance that this team has. JC has still yet to play with all its starters in a game for the season but someone always comes off the bench and fills that spot in and they keep clicking. I believe JC had more of a balanced attack than it showed last year but who in their right mind wouldnt want to put the ball into someones hands who has a chance to break it every time. I believe that Grimm resembles Blume alot. He has good speed, good agility, and what I like more than anything, doesnt care to lay his body out to get the extra yard. Then you have Blake Johnson who always requires at least 2 or 3 defenders to bring him down, Ian Welch who has both good speed and a solid frame, and off the bench you have the freshman Nathan Dillon who in my opinion, may be having one of the best freshman campiagns in Eastern Kentucky. When JK was hurt we lost some of the passing threat but Dennis Dillon has shown that he can throw the ball when given the chance. The defense this year to me in the staple of this years team. Its the best since back in the 2000 season when JC held its opponents to an average of 13 points a game and i believe this years ave. points allowed is lower than that. JC has all the makings of a very solid and competitive team but its up to them to prove it. They have so far this season and i believe that they will continue to this Friday night at Lawrence Co.

My 450th post... 50 more and I am all-region. :dancingpa

IMO, JC stays atop the wmyt mountain top 10 this week, and goes into the Boyd County game 5-0.

L.C. by as many as they want! J.c. appears to be to weak and the dawgs will dominate them very easy.. the younger dawgs will have lots of playing time in this one..

Did anyone notice that this was from a Hazard Bulldog location. Not all dawgs are LC dawgs:laugh:

It doesnt matter were anybody is from. They made a post on this thread, and people replied to it. Isnt that the beauty of bluegrasspreps.com?:D

As long as everybody realizes that nobody in Louisa feels the way 45 responded.

Lawrence County HS is about 20 minutes away from Johnson County, most of the bgp'ers from JC and LC will be at the game. Hopefully somebody will have their radio dial tuned to 98.9 to give all those in bgp land updates on the game.

Does anybody know what kind of shape Lawrence County's field is in. I know it is grass, but I didnt know how well it drains. We have had some rain today, and supposed to have rain tomorrow. Just curious.

The field drains pretty good. There is a new track and the drainage around it is not good, but the field itself is good. The team does not practice on it so it should be in good shape.

This game is the first district game for these teams and with the way things are going, it is going to be a loooooooooooong night for the home team. The Eagles win by 4 touchdowns. 35-7.

Ok, I have tried to not let some of these posts get to me, but I feel the need to add my opinion like everyone feels the need to add theirs. I have seen posts referring to how bad LC has been for the past 5 years. I think that the quote was "they have been just awful". Well in 2001, which was 5 years ago, I believe that we were undefeated. If that is "just awful, I'll take it. In the past 5 years, we have gone to the playoffs every year except for one. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that last year was the first year JC won against LC. :confused: Now mind you, that is not a predictor of tomorrow's game and JC apparently has a good team this year as well (if not better), but let's give credit where credit is due.....Just because LC has not been as dominate the past year or so like they were in the 90's don't worry, we will be. To say that LC doesn't come to play or have no chance against a clearly superior team in many opinion, well is just not giving them or the tradition of LC Football any credit. Make no mistake, last year against JC was the worst game that our team played all year (IMO, one of the worst games ever in LC history), it was awful; The dawgs will come to play this year and please don't belittle the boys by saying that we are going to "take out" players....they don't deserve that.

To read the JC posts, LC's team is full un-skilled players and weak O-Lines and JC will just have their way. I guess there is no need for us to even show up. JC has a good team for a couple of years and now they are the football powerhouse that everyone should fear....pleeeease. I have not seen any posts eluding to any of JC's weakness or slaming any of the JC players, oh I'm sorry, I guess JC has none. My bad. Let the teams back it up on the field and may the best team win.

I can guarantee you the players and the coaching staff is not looking for Lawrence to lie down like some of the members say they will. I'm one Central fan that is looking for a war in Louisa tomorrow night. Heck, out all the ones that are predicting this massive blow out only a few of them is actually JC fans. I think I counted around six. Trust me on this one these six are just fans of the program and they don't have a clue about the amount of hard work that the Eagles have put in this week to prepare for the dawgs. There not players and there certainly not coaches. Let me ask you this if Johnson Central was looking for a blow out tomorrow night would they have been working there tail off to prepare for tomorrow night's game? No they wouldn't they know that they are in for a battle the entire game.
