December 9, 20169 yr HEADLINE "Ramsey corruption causes UL probation" Bevin being attacked by the disgruntled losers of the election for trying to clean it up.
December 9, 20169 yr Or is creating his own swamp. Time will tell if he is creating a new swamp. What we know at this point is that the ousted board was a swamp.
December 10, 20169 yr Attack, avoid, deny ... The Repubs have been taking notes from the Dems the past 8 years. Isn't a lot of fun when your side is having things rammed down their throats is it?
December 10, 20169 yr Author The Repubs have been taking notes from the Dems the past 8 years. Isn't a lot of fun when your side is having things rammed down their throats is it? See these are the comments that get me. There are several statements like this in this thread. The same behavior you hate Dems for are ok when R's do it. That is what this statement says. Why would it be ok for Republicans to do the same thing you claim Dems did and you hate them for it? Why not aspire to be better? I would love for either party to do that. Stop doing it the way it has been done. Stop playing the political game and do what is right.
December 10, 20169 yr I think that the sad truth is that's the only way anything will get done again. Both sides have very hardcore and vocal elements that loathe any compromise. I really believe that if Republicans want to get anything done there is going to have to be some ramming. As our lame duck president told us elections have consequences.

While saying you want both sides to do better, you still have not slammed the Dems for doing it that way. Those are the comments that get me.
December 11, 20169 yr Author Tell me what the Dems did that was wrong and I will give my thoughts. I have no problem criticizing them.
December 14, 20169 yr Bevin is making the same mistake Ernie Fletcher made. Bevin and Fletcher both followed the lead of the Democrats before them in that they went around the laws. The difference is those democrats had Attorney Generals who were also Democrats and willing to look the other way. Bevin doesn't have that luxury so he needs to toe the line a little more.
June 9, 20179 yr After hearing the details of the recent audit, I don't care how Ramsey was ousted, just thankful he's gone. Abuse is an understatement
June 9, 20179 yr After hearing the details of the recent audit, I don't care how Ramsey was ousted, just thankful he's gone. Abuse is an understatement No kidding. Talk about a board of trustees that handed him the keys to do whatever he wanted with no oversight.
June 9, 20179 yr I don't mind using the foundation to enhance the pay of key university employees. I DEFINITELY mind using it as a legal shield to keep those payments hidden from taxpayers and donors. And some unnecessary risk in the foundation's investment portfolio is a little shaky as well. It's one thing to play with your own money, but toying with the university's endowment to speculate is really troubling. I've barely started though the report but there's already so much to see.
