Bevin causes UofL Probation

Featured Replies

Here's the problem with the current Gov (and appointees)...he thinks he can do whatever; law, policies, regs be danged. I see it every day. This administration is beyond arrogant.

No I don't. He was a bit ham-fisted maybe. The Dems have had their was for decades in Frankfort and it was/is a cesspool of corruption. The current AG was certainly not going to do anything to address the issue. Maybe the execution was wrong but I agree wholeheartedly with the intent.

Whew. Thank goodness for that last sentence. At least you are willing to admit there was a mistake made somewhere by Bevin.

Bevin is doing exactly what he campaigned on. Is a politician actually following through on campaign promises so rare that people are shocked when it happens?

Lot's of damage done by the Dems this century. I can't wait for the new Republican controlled legislature to open.

Regardless of how much "damage" was done, you can't "fix" things illegally. That's a pretty simple idea. He keeps at this pace, he won't make it four years.

What I've learned in the last couple elections is that Republicans love to preach law and order, but while the seem to love the "order", they don't really care about the law. When you've spent a generation preaching that government is a problem unto itself, then the laws it has put in place are nothing more than government troublemaking and intrusion. No need to revise, repeal, or replace; simply ignore.

And what I've learned the last 2 time that Republicans have had the Governor's mansion is that Dems suddenly become appalled at things they've been doing for years.

Ok the Dems did some things you don't like I get that. Some I don't like either. ..and Gov. Bevin is doing things you like. Ok, that makes it acceptable for him to bypass the laws and just shove it down our throats. When Obama did that with ACA the GOP screamed bloody murder.

Come on.

There's hypocrisy on both sides. I'm just enjoying watching the Dems act like they're as pure as the driven snow.

When Obama was shoving stuff down our throats I for one said that the precedent had been established and when a Republican got into office they had no moral high ground to take if the same things happened then.

I'm also relishing the idea of the judicial nominees President Trump will be able to make since Harry Reid nuked the filibuster of judicial appointments.

Sauce for the goose....

Ok, you still can't say the Governor did something illegal and wrong. Let's just stay on him and what he has done. You say the execution maybe, no maybe about it. Just admit it. The way things are stacked in Kentucky with the Republicans. He can get about anything accomplished he wants, if he just waits and does it legally. He just cannot seem to be able to do that.

If the Governor appoints them to the board, then cant the Governor take them off?

Premature legislation. I think there's a new pill for that.

Lets also remember that Bevin told them to fix there issues or he was going to can them. They refused to fix the issue, and so he canned them.

When their terms are up he can appoint whom he wants. I suppose if they do something immoral or unethical.. highly naive to think they ALL did that.

Fix the issue, was fire the President. That is not a reason to remove them if they don't.

He really drained the swamp!
