1 No call on RC face guarding ryan young late in 4th.

2 NO call on RC helement to helment contact on LC`s QB late in the 4th.

3 Illegal block call ....negated LC`s 1st down & forced a 4th down punt

late in the 4th.

:irked:

I did see the face guarding by RC in the 4th, the reciever was Reed not Young, the other two I dont know, I thought over all a pretty well called game. Great effort by both teams.

This one is a shocker for me. I thought that the Rock would roll in this one and instead they were beaten. Looks like Rock may be alittle down this year due to its standards. Congrats to Lincoln Co. on the win and good luck to Rock next week.

I think Lincoln deserves a little credit here. They have talent and they are well coached. Coach French isn't new to the game or nothin. I'm looking forward to next season with Lincoln and Mercer being in the same district. Mostly to see the coaching duel. French (former Mercer coach) Vs. Jaggers (former Lincoln coach). That will make for a great matchup that will grow and be great for the community. I would love to see the Bob Allen classic in Danville be for just the local teams Danville,Boyle,Lincoln, and Mercer alternating each year playing one another. That would be awesome!

Congratulations to the Patriots. I picked Lincoln to win this one and turn the corner. This win will be a big steppingstone, and the Patriots could make some noise. Get ready Patriot fans, looks like Coach Jaggers has them headed in the right direction.

Their starting TE and MLB was diagnosed with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever about 3 weeks ago and was hospitilized and is still recovering. Besides that they have numerous receivers that have broken ribs, concussions, broken collar bones and one of the bigger lineman blew his ACL early on as well. Rock is starting 3 10th graders at NG, MLB and Safety. Not too mention the Center, QB and TB is seeing their first varsity action this year at those respective postions.

Somehow I don't remember Lincoln County making excuses the past few years when they lost to Rockcastle. They just went back to work and continued to try and get better. I'm sure Coach Larkey is not one to make excuses, unlike some.

I will have to say this was a shock. Is Lincoln Co. kind of a sleeper this year?

Rock outgains LC in every category except the scoreboard.

Rushing:

Rock 191

Lincoln 101

Passing:

Rock 83

LC 60

Total Offense:

Rock 271 yards

LC 161 yards

Rock had -34 yards also in sacks or they would've had over 300 yards.

I wouldn't have said this was a major upset if you knew anything about either team. LC with some major speed, at their place and Rock banged up missing two starters and dressing only 35 players. Rock needs some depth.

Miller for Rock had 25 carries for 190 yards.

Here is a stat for you.....Lincoln County---3 extra-points......Rockcastle--0

Oh wait.....here is another one---Lincoln County 21.....Rockcastle--18

Give Coach French, his staff, and the players their due--THEY WON!!

The kicking game is a big part of football. One poster on another thread said that Mountain teams needed to learn the importance of the kicking game. Bell County will have an advantage over Rockcastle down the road. Bell's sophomore kicker, Merrick, was 8-8 on PAT's against Letcher Friday evening. He also had seven kickoffs land in air in endzone for non-returnable touchbacks. Two others were taken on one and returned to 19 and 15 yard lines. Letcher had no field position all night.

LC adding Clay Clevenger to the staff did not hurt.

Great win Lincoln

This is one will be talked about for years to come across the county lines for years to come.

Great win Lincoln

Sidenote............LC managed just 23 yards offense the final 3 quarters.

Good job on knockin off the #1 team in the Mountains.

Congratulations to the Hounds for finally winning a game against a weak 1A team.

Another stat. 3 TD's for each team. The kicking game on PAT's were the differerence. Nothing to brag about for either team. I guess the score stands though.

So then what is the excuse for Rockcastle? Throw the stats out the window. The only one that counts isn't hard to figure out. Lincoln Co won! Your post is pointless. Sorry about that. I just had to get that off of my chest. Great win Pats!
