Opening night game attendance/crowd?

Featured Replies

For those that attended a game last night, what did the crowds look like?

Poor to say the least at the Mercer/Shelby game. Student section for Shelby might have had 10 kids in it...they did their best to make some noise, but still. If Mercer had any kids there I didn't notice them. Might have been 250-275 in total attendance maybe, somewhere around that number.

Was talking to a Mercer dad and uncle of one of the players and they just shook their heads and said it's just sad the way the crowd (or lack thereof) at games today are.

Good crowd at Covcath vs Williamstown. One side mostly filled. Other side about half full, mainly the "Crazies".

First game is tonight at home. I'll report back.

Game not until tonight, but social media reporting a sellout of 420-plus in the Cloverdome for Mason County at St. Patrick.

Of course you were competing against UK/Arizona State on ESPN 2. That probably keep the average non parent fan away

Wish I could be there for that one. Kudos to Mason County for being willing to play there.

I am getting ready to head down.

I will be at Madison Central as they open up against rival Madison Southern. I would think the gym will be pretty full, report in later.

Love this time of year:taz::banana:

Definitely will be standing room only. No walk up tickets. But still will only be less than 500 total. I think MC offered to let St. Pat use the girls gym for free and collect all gate receipts and concessions. I know it wouldn't have been quite the same, but St. Pat could have easily tripled their income for this game.

St. Pat's was supposed to make an announcement for tickets sales prior to the event and there was no such announcement made. I was going to head down to it but they never announced it.

It's not about ticket sales, it's about hosting the county big against the county small school and " Go Green Pride". Welcome to St. Patrick basketball. Mason Co. Boys varsity has not played in St. Pat's gym for 55 years.

A very few tickets available were gone like that *.

Pretty good crowd here at Boyle County for our game against Bryan Station. Excellent student section.

There wasn't 200 people total at Shelby Co./Mercer County game last night.

Sorry, to correct 65 years.
