They get behind every game and play catch up with a team that isn't built th to play catch up. Can't make extra points or even try 45 yarders. Poor tackling, although the defense has played decent lately. No running game, no protection ( better today but not great). AD can't be off a little, as he was today or they have no chance because they don't have a #1 or #2 type of receiver. I have no idea where all the blocked passes late came from, whatever the case, AD did not adjust. This is a bad football team.

November 27, 20169 yr To continue on with something @Bengalmaniac said in update thread. Are you denying that Dalton doesn't lock on to his primary receiver after his pre read snap? If so we really are watching two different teams and qbs. If you agree he does lock on to his first read, then how do you know others weren't open, but yet you couldn't see since we had to watch Dalton force passes into his first read. It's very simple with Dalton. I do think he is smart and good with his pre snap reads. However when his primary read on his pre snap read doesn't get open, he struggles. He either forces it in anyways, or tries to wait for the wr to work himself open. Now when his primary read does get open, he usually is really good. However the last few weeks he has even missed some big throws when that happens too. Idk if the pass rush is in his head now, but he is also starting to miss some big throws when his primary receiver does get open. I am not saying he sucks. However the faults he does have are big, and have been the same for years. When we play prime time games, top defenses who take away his primary reads he has struggled and not sure how you can argue that. Which I admit it's not just him the whole offense sucks all the way to the coordinator and head coach. However one thing it does show is Andy needs basically everything to go right around him to be that top 10 qb we saw last year. He has to have a top line, three very good wrs and a top te, and solid options in the back field. He still is not the type of qb that helps make others around him better. The same can be said about a lot of qbs, but that is what keeps him from elite, and why when he is missing pieces he looks more like an average qb like he did in 2014. It's a very difficult spot they are in with Dalton. His contract is costing more each year, however he needs a lot around him to do well. When his contract is going to hurt in doing that. I don't hate Dalton, but the Bengals future with him could be interesting one way or another. He goes through progressions and every analyst I have heard/read and the color guys say he does. You are just blind to this. I just don't believe you know more than Greg Cossell and Jaws who do this for a living or Fouts who said it today. I will agree he does not make his receivers better, but it does not have to be perfect. He does quite a bit with his legs and he threw well on the run today. November 27, 20169 yr Like Dan Hoard stated. With our kicker we have to wish and pray and with Baltimores kicker they just have to get out to the 35-40 yard line and he's automatic. How hard is to actually get a very reliable kicker?

Hmmm Marvin Lewis even told Fouts that Fouts mentioned, that hopefully Dalton can go through his progressions better today or did you miss that. Also I have seen all the guys you mentioned talk about Andy. They all talk about his pre snap reads and progressions he goes through at the line of scrimmage before the snap. Andy before the snap is very good. However I have not seen the guys you mentioned talk about the progressions he goes through after the snap. Apparently me and you do watch a different qb, and see different things on what people talk about with Dalton.
November 27, 20169 yr People can defend Dalton all day long. Will never convince me he can take this team to the promised land. Today proved to me that AJ Green makes Dalton look better than he is, not the other way around. Dalton is very pedestrian if he doesn't have Green making eye popping catches. People can continue to blame the line. Today Dalton had all day to throw and still looked pedestrian. The passes knocked down were not the lines fault at all. Dalton had all day in the pocket and eyed his receiver down which made it easy for the dlinemen to block the pass. I heard someone say it was the lines fault becuase they se they should have chop blocked to knock the dlineman down. If they do that every pass play then Dalton will have 1 second to throw. He had plenty of time and if he needed that much time when the line is chopping the defensive line he would have been sacked 30 times today. When you chop block it's not like you can lay on the ground and hold the defender on top of you until the play is over. On those blocks, it wasn't as if the dline pushed the OLine into Daltons face, they didn't. They got hardly any penetration at all and made those blocks.
