Being able to judge a kid by numbers alone is a talent.

One that few folks possess.

Zach has worked really hard to improve his game each year. He has also gotten bigger and stronger. I expect big things from him this year. The best thing about Zach is that he is the most polite and classiest kids that I have met. He also comes from a great family!

Still, a 6'9 kid is a "big man" in KY hoops. You should expect bigger numbers from a 6'9 kid. Once again, not impressive.

Never been a believer that stats tell the whole story. Have seen plenty of players who put up big numbers but who really weren't great players.

Considering that high school basketball is a guards game and bigs traditionally develop later I would go the other direction and say 12 & 8 from a soph is impressive.

Judged by his numbers alone? I saw the kid play 3 times last year and twice SK came out on the losing end. Maybe I just went to bad games but I it doesn't seem that way based on their record last year. I'm just speaking the truth. I'm not saying he's a bad player I'm just saying a kid who is 6'9 or however tall he was should be putting up better numbers for a team who should be a Region contender every year.

You could be right, they have size that no one else can match, I think the draw is ultra important. You have the 29th district which will have 2 really good teams come out, and Anderson, beating (2) of those on your path is really tough. Can Simon handle pressure, limit TO, and make shots, if so a tough out they will be

I'm calling it. This is the year SK gets to Rupp.

Way to early to say that they have the pieces to be really good. I can't wait to see them play with a full roster.

Anyone know which football players are playing basketball besides Murray and Cottrell?

Let me preface this by saying I didn't see SK much last year so....

I think in order for SK to win the 8th they need JC to be more aggressive offensively. Looked a bit passive to me. Not sure if that was due to personnel or not but I thought he could get more looks if he had the mentality to attack.

This team has size and basketball players - speed and athleticism will bother them. However, they should have a great season.

Now that's interesting. .......

@Clyde better stop studying for your P.E. 2 exam. You don't want to enter adulthood.

I've read a lot about Hawkins playing out of position at the point. With this year's team, do those familiar with the team see Kitchens running the point which would allow Hawkins to play that 2 or 3 spot that most think he's best suited for?

With Hawkins, Kitchens, Murray, Cottrell and Niece they have 5 guys who can handle thr ball. But Hawkins is the main ball handler and will just fine.
