I have a problem with this post. You make it sound so one sided, I've witnessed firsthand the same classless actions from the Cards (and if you look hard enough, any team) as well. No matter how great a program is, no matter what pedestal a coach is put on, there are always going to be players that are outliers to the core beliefs of team & sportsmanship & do things that are not within the core beliefs of how we feel the game should be played & how they as players should carry themselves, both on & off the field.

 

Johnny_Utah, I had a real problem with my post also. Thought about it a long time; but after same ugly feedback from three different staffs, it became blatantly obvious there is an imbalance of trash talking, taunting leadership among the players at Lafayette. This leads to a culture change on the battlefield and unfortunate flare ups that have no place in high school football. I am 100% sure there are a lot of quality young men on the Generals. To them I wish the very best in sports.

I wish the best also to those trash talkers,,,,,motivation comes from many different facets of life and sports....everyone isn't the same

I just hope that Lafayette can forego their continual classless trash talking and unsportsmanlike play, and elevate their conduct to the same level as their talent. Unfortunately, life's lessons (both good and bad) are forged by what happens on the battlefield. A victory by these Generals as they now conduct themselves, sets deep mis-guided footsteps for future players to follow.

2 years ago KHSAA recommended doing away with the handshake and said if you do it and something bad happens its on you.

I didn't see any trash talking or anything like that when thry played SK.

Coug, I know you are upset that SC beat Conner but you need to understand that McKee shook the coaches hands and then set up to watch and direct his team to make sure there was no problems in the handshake line by players. BTW the head coach of Conner did not shake all the players hands. Each team has a different procedure of how to handle these situations. It had nothing to do with being classless, and everything to do with management of SC protocol of protecting all players involved in a hard fought battle.

Got to be one of the most pitiful defenses of Lafayette's conduct I could have ever imagined. Article probably in the Lex-Herald tomorrow. Cannot link because of my tech inabilities. IMO, the article tells it all. Ledership starts at the top and the rational to defend ranges from everyone does it, to got to understand our backgrounds, to motivation, to sometimes excessive. Never speaks to we may not be perfect, but we are working on it. Coach, create quality futures, not just present victories. The depth of your footprints today will determine what pathes your players will follow tomorrow.

So many people talking about stuff that doesn't matter.... McKee after the connor game... McKee coaching from hashmarks.... Who and why teams are trash talking.... Wanted to read this thread and actually talk about the game. Should be high scoring considering the explosiveness of both offenses. Not sure Lafayette will be able to slow down SC's running attack with their big play ability over the top. SC 49 LHS 35.

The forfeit game rematch. This one should be a battle. I don't think either team will be "friendly" in this one. Both have big chips on their shoulders from the 2-0 decision. Both have much to prove.

It should be awesome.
