I have a very aggressive vetting process. 16 friends of which 1 is not immediate family. Have several hundred friend requests, but I'm not letting them in!

No Facebook or Twitter.....have ZERO interest in either.

I have a friend request pending from the notorious obnoxious political poster cousin that I refuse to accept (I was forewarned by others in the fam).

 

On the other hand I keep this one crazy aunt who is also an obnoxious political poster – only because it’s pure entertainment.

 

Dang… the crazy aunt with the entertainingly offensive political posts just un-friended a yuuuuge group of us on FB. Oh well, at least I got to follow her to her victory speech….

The only people I block/mute are those that continuously share information from sites that have such an extreme false bias. These folks are subscribers to this content and the false narratives for which these sites peddle. Sad that people find this stuff legitimate.

I lost a friend of over 30 years. Sadly, she dished it out during the entire election cycle and could not face the music when her candidate lost. She attacked me personally and then de-friended me. I went ahead and blocked her completely after that. Very sad.

Certain members in my extended family are no longer speaking due to politics – it is VERY sad. In our family it’s moreso the older generation… the younger ones seem to enjoy the banter and get a charge out of the differences.

No family issues. I have a few acquaintances that have unfriended me over the years due to disagreements on Guns, the Local Library and other issues. Most recent was when a guy was calling Republicans Idiots on Facebook and my wife asked him why he resorted to name calling and then he and his wife unfriended both of us on FB.

 

A couple of my really good friends are devout Dems, but we communicate via PM's or Text and rarely on an open forum.

 

Only people I've ever unfriended or block were some FB stalkers/creepers...well I did a purge a while back and dumped people that I really don't know and I have no interest in what they are doing, but that wasn't because anyone said or posted anything that I didn't like or agree with.

I did a FB purge after the election. I deleted 9 people who had passed away, some people who I really didn't like much, and a few people who were posting racist-like memes. Ain't nobody got time for that on my page!

Local Library Board, which is appointed and answers to no one, decided to raise taxes yearly it seems year after year. It was a point of great contention in our community :lol2:

I have one very good friend who I grew up with that is as liberal as can be and works in Kenton County Democratic Party. He has 2 accounts on fb, one for his personal life and one that is all politics. Needless to say we have gone back and forth over the years when it comes to politics, but we knew where the line not to cross was. It wasn't him that I would have problems with but some of the people he had as friends on there would go way over the line to resort to childish name calling to any conservative that would reply.

 

It got got so bad at times

that my friend would call me

and apologize for some

of the comments some of his fb friends made to where he even unfriended several of them even though they were also liberals. They were just very hateful which made me laugh for being a member of the party that preaches tolerance they were some of the most intolerable people out there.

 

This presidential election we decided to not follow each other until

after the election. Worked out great and we are now back to following each other now.
