To be honest yesterday in this site is the first time I ever recall hearing of 538. Polls are a joke and in my opinion made up bullcrap to scare people into voting or not voting one way or the other. Honestly how many of us has ever been polled?

 

I liken this idea to reading the sports page when I was in Highschool. You read about the #1 team in the state beating the pants of their opponents then come playoff time they lose in the first round. Well my only info of them came from one writer who saw them play once or twice.

 

People like me who are more left than right but just tired of the same

538 was playing with the other polls and data which had been tainted by the DNC. I mean do you all think that the wikileaks stuff was not true? And the Project Veritas videos? One thing Trump said all along and most here ridiculed him was that the system was rigged. And it was, but they could not rig the overall voting. These are age old tatics to suppress the vote and Silver took it all in and made a fool of himself.

 

Here is a good tip for you guys today. Buy stocks in droves as it falls today. In a year or so. Sell. You will thank me then. :thumb:

If he was all alone, I'd agree. Everyone missed it so the concept of accurate polling lost all credibility last night. 538 (and others) needs a deep dive to understand why it happened. They are pretty good about that kind of assignment. That said, I think the days of both accurate polling and any significant reliance thereon may be over. Not sure what gets substituted for that, but hope it is good old fashioned journalism. Not holding my breath.
