Wow didn't see this one coming congrats CC

This is shocking

Congrats to Steve and the boys.

Wow! I missed this one for sure!

The Camels deserve this win. They played with more fire than MC and beat them in all phases on offense and defense. Big shout out to Alex Dowds, who had a monster night on both sides of the ball and Peyton Anderson with a game changing 4th quarter interception.

Dowds is a great kid.

I am thinking the Camels got healthy?

I am not too sure about that had approximately 13-15 kids injured on the sideline last night from what I saw.

From the Richmond Register:

Campbell County takes control early, holds off Indians 26-21

Nathan Hutchinson/[email protected]

After watching his team allow two touchdowns early in the first quarter of a Class 6A Playoff game on Friday night, Madison Central coach Mark Scenters called a timeout.

He brought his entire team out onto the field, had every player take a knee and tried to get them refocused after a rough start.

“I just reiterated what we’ve been saying all week. I just said it a little louder,” Scenters said.

Unfortunately for the Indians, that intervention really didn’t have much of an affect.

Campbell County (4-7) took a 20-0 lead in the second quarter and held on for 26-21 win over Central (8-3) in Richmond. The Indians got two touchdown catches from Antwuan Warford and three TD passes from senior quarterback Zach Hardin, but simply couldn’t battle back from a big early deficit.

The Camels advance to the second round of the playoffs and will take on Simon Kenton next week.

“We did not have the week of practice that we needed. There’s no question about that,” Scenters said. “And that falls squarely on my shoulders. We did get a little better as the week went on. We were prepared from an X and O standpoint. We were prepared from a physical standpoint, but were just not prepared to play in a playoff setting and, once again, that falls on me.”

Central had not won a playoff game since 2012 and was trying to snap a four-game postseason losing streak.

But, the Indians did not look sharp early — on offense or defense.

The Camels went 80 yards on eight plays on the first possession of the game and took the lead on a 33-yard touchdown pass from Austin Hoeh to Jack Comer.

Just more than two minutes later, Alex Dowds broke free for a 70-yard touchdown run.

In the second quarter, Hoeh connected with Cameron Sandman on a 61-yard touchdown pass.

“I told everyone who would listen to me that they were not a 3-7 football team,” Scenters said of Campbell County. “They came down here and were prepared to win a football game.”

Defense was much more physical than they have been recently. Big shout out to the 4 "Super Sophomores" starting on Defense for the Camels for being aggressive (Peyton Anderson, Tanner Lawrence, Reid Jolly, Logan Harrod). They don't quite have the size/strength yet, but their athleticism showed last night.
