I can't imagine how, but I have no frame of reference for it. My guess is once you're hooked enough, it's less about getting the high than it is about just bringing yourself up to some semblance of normal functioning and not feeling miserable.

For an experienced junkie, they can function fairly well. They can't when they aren't using.

From what I heard I think he was at lunch when he was found. Headed back to school to teach.

Even this man's closest friends and co-workers say they had no idea he was doing drugs. That's crazy.

It appears that he was using while on the job. I'll agree with you that he should never teach or coach again.

Many know of 'functioning alcoholics'. Now there are 'functioning drug addicts'. Sadly, its probably more prevalent that we think. And also probably worsening.
