I'm a never-Trump guy but I've tried to find something to say to make at least a miniscule case for voting for him, but I have come up empty. I would really like to hear Wireman's case for Trump. I don't think he has one because I don't think there is one. I'm with Deuce, I would like to hear a case for Trump(without a mention of Hillary). I've tried in vain to come up with one.

October 9, 20169 yr I believe that there are a lot of well-meaning people who support Trump because of their disgust for the opposition. I kinda get that. The ones who are truly passionate about the Trump guy and genuinely think he has something positive to offer, even after all they have seen and heard from this vile man, really really scare me.
October 9, 20169 yr I get where some voters are disenchanted with a "politics as usual" type candidate, and like the idea of something different. Right now The Donald is all that they have that fits this description. I get what they want, but I don't get how they're convinced that Trump is "that guy" that they think is best suited to fill those shoes. On top of that, for a right winged conservative for example, it would just seem completely contradictory that he would be their guy. There's bound to be a non-politician type person out there somewhere that would have made more sense, but he/she never came forward to throw their hat in the ring, so they're going to settle for him. With that said, I also think that some are so completely tied to their almighty party that whether or not he really even resembles a true Republican, just because he has an "R" next to his name is good enough for them no matter how illogical. I really feel that they've been duped, and all the while have duped themselves for having voted him through the primaries considering the 15 or so others choices that they had. The Republican voter seems to have lost touch with just what they actually want, for a real Republican type voter seemingly would've aimed at a more traditional type conservative Republican candidate, and now it just seems that since they're left with this questionable character, their biggest concern is to not vote for a Democrat no matter how awful their Republican choice may be. It's not my goal here to promote either candidate, but to say what we now have is a fine example of how blind support for one's party beyond all else is painfully being demonstrated, so much that people just like devout religious folk will punch their party's ticket until their dying day no matter how ridiculous or illogical. I know some Republicans and have been curious as to how they're viewing this considering the circumstances, and was hoping they'd surprise me, but just like a moth to a flame, The Donald is the Republican candidate, and they are born Republicans, so there's no question in their minds as to how they will vote, and they will do so enthusiastically at that. Party first, and that's that. So much for being an individual with a mind of their own.
October 9, 20169 yr Here is why I would vote for Trump: 1. Washington is a mess and needs shock treatment. Trump will be different and unpredictable. The usual game playing is not going to work with him. His election would be the ultimate shock treatment to Washington DC. 2. Reduced regulations. Washington has gone overboard on regulations. This country is choking on micromanagement regulation. It needs to be stopped and rolled back. 3. Trump will be more aggressive in protecting American business and jobs. He will not let foreign companies and governments raid the world's greatest marketplace and give nothing for that privilege. His hard core negotiating will be good.
October 9, 20169 yr This is difficult to do in a vacuum. I have heard only two reasons from my hard-right friends (and they are legion) that they mention without invoking the name of the she-devil incarnate. He says what he thinks. He ain't Hillary. On second thought, make that one reason.
October 9, 20169 yr And what scares me about the "he says what he thinks" argument is this. What my friends are REALLY saying is, "He says what we think".
