I was talking to a BB friend last night and he wasn't none to happy with it and I couldn't blame him.

 

Easy about knocking the CCMS field polarbear98. My last visit to the field in Brooksville, it didn't exactly look like the playing surface at Paul Brown Stadium.

Bare spots is one thing.

 

Dust from 20 to 20 and hash to hash is another. At least, that's how it looked when I saw BB there earlier this year.

Same field, same dry fall bare spots, same dust for last 55 years. I know of what I speak.

 

Yeah, it looked like a football field. I hate the turf fields, but they do allow for a more consistent game. This looked and played old school. Thankfully there are a few still around.

With my last two Brossart prognostications, Mustang might never want me to pick BB to win.

You pick football outcomes like I pick horses.

 

No kisses of death this week - go for three straight - pick Paris.

Although he didn't get many touches, the kid who impressed me a lot was #10 Bradley Moore. On a couple of occasions with drives threatening to stall he took the ball and picked up a first down, including the clinching touchdown drive in the fourth quarter.

 

Shhhh! Bradley Moore is our "secret weapon."

 

It's been only a matter of time until he had a break-out night and turned in a big effort. As stated, some timely big plays from him last night, which will be only the start of big things ahead.

Man I really hate this.....pick the winner and then hope like crazy to be wrong; but, here it is. Greyhounds over the Mustangs in a driving monsoon by a score of 3-2 as Brossart's home field becomes so muddy it is almost unplayable. Both teams have their airgames shutdown and fumbles rule the day. Paris refuses to play unless refs agree to leave their flags in the trunks of their cars. This decision plays a key role in the game winning drive as an unsportsmanlike conduct flag is called on the Mustang radio team during a timeout. White hat maintains he doesn't need a flag to throw during timeouts. 15 yds gives Paris the only field position they needed to knock a 45 yard FG through at the gun. Last I saw was Mustang fans storming the booth.

Not sure why the bare spots so early in the season this year, and the field presently has plenty of them, but having witnessed every Brossart game played there this season, there has been only one case where there was even an indication of dirt/dust being kicked up, and it was negligible.

You forgetting where we live, probably be 90 with a sprinkle at most. Ball fields and yards have been brown for 2 months

Might wanna check who you are quoting before you throw me into it. Although I don't disagree with the poster. Feild was quite crappy. At least we have grass on our feild between the 20's. Just sayin

 

For the record we had a couple boys saying the feild was indeed dusty to the point they had to leave the feild to flush their eyes

You had "liked" the comment by All Blue, who mentioned the field conditions at BB. If the dusty field can get Brossart some wins, I am sure they will welcome it.

@Mustang would you care to share the Brossart secret to keep the dust from going in your players eyes? Apparently it wasn't affecting your players like it was Bracken's.

Let me re-phrase.

 

From my vantage point 300 feet distant from mid-field, I only detected a smattering of dust on one occasion.

Perhaps the conditions that weren't obvious from my perch were more evident at field level.

 

Again, not sure why the field is so bare at this stage of the season. Last year the grass turned brown after the first frost, but the bare spots weren't as evident.
