Is Boyle really down?

Featured Replies

A lot of programs would celebrate what might be considered a "down year" by Boyle County's sky-high standards.

I think Boyle could be looking at a 7-3 finish, with possible losses to Danville/Lafayette/Mercer County/Southwestern, although I wouldn't be on all four. While that is "down" for the Rebels, it most likely would be whole-heartedly accepted at 95% of the schools in Kentucky.

Not down, I would call it growing pains, and if you all have being reading, the Rebels are still fear.

As long as they know where they want to go and keep that determination then I believe they have a great chance to get there. They just need to remember their fans believe in them. I for one will admit am a fan of what they have done over there. It reminds teams like Mercer who has never done anything close to that magnitude that with a lot of sweat and blood and great fans that you can accomplish the unimaginable. Let's face it, 99% of the teams in the state would be lying to you if they told you they weren't jealous of what Boyle has had. Let's face it. They aren't going anywhere for awhile.

Boyle is a very young team this year with a very good coaching staff! By the time district play starts they will be ready.

The rebels are just missing a couple of people here and there. They are very young and need their SR's to step up and take charge. I am not washing this season away by any means but the next 3 or 4 years they should do very well. Their top classes, in my opinion right now is 8th grade, 9th grade and the sophmore class. I mean no disrespect of the other classes but talent comes in cycles and top to bottom the younger classes are just stronger. (In my opinion of course.)

I wish they hadn't lost to Henry Clay mostly cause now they really want to prove the doubters wrong. We don't need and even more determined Boyle team coming to Mercer on sept 15th. I've seen Boyle play mad a few times and it's not pretty. I would say they will be pretty fired up Friday.

What if Danville beats them:scared: :scared: :scared:

Don't get down on a successful program after one loss. Each team needs to find itself and its leaders, and this loss might have done that. No matter how successful, there's always that one game that no one understands.

Boyle is still a very good team. And an excellent program.

Boyle is not down they are still probably going to win their region and make it to the state semifinals. They are still a top 10 team in 3A.

I heard they were going to be in the Rafferty's Bowl at WKU next year with Bowling Green, Warren Central, and an unnamed fourth team. You don't commit to a two-year event such as this if the cupboard is going to be bare...

:thumb: :thumb: Boyle County's cupboard is never bare;)

In terms of pure talent, they are down. If you look at the number of kids that went D1 in the championship years and compare that to last year and this year, they aren't as good. However, they have enough talent and are they are very well coached. That leads to success. They may not challenge for a title every year, but they won't be far off either.
