They are just much more visible today with social media.

No question about it.

So are we now saying she is just dumb and not racist?

Have to think about the expulsion, right now it disturbs me. Absolutely agree with her sorority kicking her out. I have no idea when people are going to learn the internet is forever and your ignorant stuff will follow you. She's lucky she's not my daughter.

Maybe that's part of it...but I'm convinced it's not all of it. Remember I work/deal with a lot of pre-teen/teen age boys thru basketball, and have for years now. Kids have done dumb stuff all through the ages, I get that. But common knowledge stuff that you would expect most if not all kids to know by a certain age seems to be lost on more than should be, and common sense seems to be taking root a lot later in life these days for many, if it ever takes root at all for some. I know, I know..."get off my lawn"! Maybe I've turned into that guy.:idunno:

Based on your posts, I don' think you've "turned into that guy", I think you've been him for quite a while. :D

I'd venture there were just as many kids who didn't know common knowledge stuff back when you were growing up, you most likely just weren't around them. Probably around more kids who were similar to you.

Kicked her out of college? Sorry, but that's ridiculous.

Stupid on the girl's part? Absolutely.

Expellable offense? Come on.

Well...I knew who those guys were in high school, and you are right I didn't hang around those guys cause they were usually into stuff or doing things that would either get you in trouble with the law, or at least your parents.

But I say what I say based not only on my observations, but what I have kids I work with tell me about other kids too and what's going on in the school/community. It's a scary portrait they paint sometimes.

Or 40. :D

I've said many times I don't know if I would have been successful in today's college environment. Too many distractions and too much visibility.

Honestly, to the contrary, I think a state institution trying to keep her and giving her a 2nd chance would have been the PC thing to do. I applaud K-State, and if she wants to get a college education she will find 1,000 other schools ready to take her money.

Collossally stupid and offensive should come with consequences.

Belmont in Nashville expelled a student today . She posted a snapchat of NFL players raising their hand with the caption "POS n....they need a bullet in their head."

What happened to freedom of speech. The NFL guys get away with it, why shouldn't she. It's what our military fought for.
