September 18, 201610 yr UofL looked as good as anyone in the country today. I hope they continue this momentum and find them selves in the playoff. Love him or hate him Petrino is one of the best if not the best offensive minds in football. He is also very good at evaluating talent to fit his style. This Cat fan had to look away dreading when the Cards play my Kittens.
September 18, 201610 yr Shout out to @HammerTime and @PurplePride92 for dealing with my drunk self during the game. All things considered I had a great time watching the game with you guys. :lol2: :lol2: :thumb: :lol2: Gotta keep 2 on his toes during the game.
September 18, 201610 yr Get outta here with that. FSU looked bad because Louisville gave them the business. I agree with that. UL dominated every aspect of the game. Not taking anything away from FSU. I'm just saying in the 1st game of the season FSU didn't look like a top 5 team either.
September 18, 201610 yr I don't know, if Ole Miss continues to beat Alabama does that change your opinion? Nope.
September 18, 201610 yr The big thing for FSU is Cook not playing as good as he should. Truth. The OLine has been horrendous.
September 18, 201610 yr Nope. My viewpoint is then that you probably can't support Alabama as the #1 team. Is that the case? Because Ole Miss proved that they are a strong team, and even as ugly a loss as FSU took today doesn't wipe away the fact that FSU knocked them off.

Alabama won and didn't get beat by 40 or so points.
September 18, 201610 yr After watching the game on DVR, I think my favorite part about the game was that Louisville never took their foot off the gas. That's what you have to do against teams like FSU. Bobby kept running the offense, and the defense continued playing with a chip on their shoulder until the final whistle. If they continue to do that, Louisville will be hard to beat. We can go ahead and retire that "they haven't played anybody" narrative now. Lamar Jackson is the best player in the country, and the Heisman is his to lose.

Lamar may be the most explosive and versatile player I've seen in a long long time! What a freaking show he puts on.
September 18, 201610 yr Well that was fun. Nearly 24 hours later and I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the consequences. The Louisville-Clemson game is almost certainly going to be a prime time kickoff now and could conceivably be the GameDay game again (really solid possibilities in the B1G and Pac 12 also) assuming neither slips up next week. As for the game, as impressed as I was with Jackson and the offense, it was the defense that stole the show for me. They were everywhere. Two years ago this game was Dalvin Cook's coming out party,; this year the defense aided in Lamar Jackson's coming out party by absolutely smothering Cook. Special teams was in on it too. Setting aside Alexander's return TD, the coverage teams were outstanding. Despite Louisville's kicker dropping knockoffs well short of the goal line, it never seemed like FSU could get much going on returns. They covered extremely well. It was the most complete all-around game I've ever seen a Louisville Cardinals football team play. Just awesome.
