Is RGIII Done?

Featured Replies

Injured Sunday against the Eagles and according to ESPN the injury will not even be re-evaluated for a month.

Placed on IR today...to miss extended length of time (at least 8 weeks), possibly the entire season.

So is this the end of his NFL Career?

Good grief

The Browns :lol2:

I actually think they'll be better served with McCown under center. :idunno:

I thought he was done before he got to Cleveland... And sure didn't think he'd have a good chance of staying healthy with the Browns, so I'd guess "yes", he's done at least as a starter in the NFL.

I hope so, tried of hearing about him.

Now he has time to sort out his personal life.

What was the Samuel L. Jackson's character in "Unbreakable"? Yeah, RGIII is the NFL's version.

RGIII just showed why he is not the QB of the future for the Browns. Not only is he injury-prone, he has trouble running a conventional NFL offense. He will be out for AT LEAST 8 weeks with a broken bone in his left shoulder (non-throwing arm). If he returns toward the end of the season, it should be as a backup. And that will be his role for the rest of his career wherever he plays.

You are right, UKMFan. McCown will give the Browns a better chance of winning immediately. Last year against the Ravens he threw for a Browns record 457 yrds in an overtime victory for the Browns. He is a very respectable QB--12 TDs, 4 Int, 93.3 QB rating in 2015.

The downside is, he's 37 yrs old and his injury list is long also: concussion, bruised ribs, sore shoulder, sore hand, broken collar bone (suffered in last year's opener). All these injuries occurred in 2015 which is why he only started 8 games last year.

Hue Jackson passed on Wentz trading the #2 pick for a boatload of very good draft picks because he was not excited about Wentz and he was intrigued by the prospect of reinvigorating RGIII's career. How good Wentz will be is still an unknown, but the ship has passed on RGIII and Hue doesn't have a great back-up plan, other than draft a QB #1 in 2017(?).

I didn't know he was Italian.

Browns should've kept Hoyer for a few more seasons if they weren't going to draft a QB high in the draft...

Hoyer was a decent "for the meantime" type of QB..

Maybe the Browns will sell their soul for McCarron. Wouldn't be the first time that Hue helped us out.

Do the Bengals really want the Browns soul?
