I do suspect the Trinity talent may have finally overpowered the Dogs once they went ground. Was not there, so don't know for sure. But, if All Tell's observation is correct, that will not bode well for the Rocks in the rematch.

Very true, I was not there. But, you have piked my interest enough to check with my coaching buds that were there.

Halftime adjustments were the difference, defense stop the long passes and the offense went to grinding the ball. Male threw the kitchen sink at T in this first match, but I doubt they will get away with that if there is a rematch.

Male and Trinity rematch (if it happens) will happen in the semi-state and they are clearly and without a doubt the 2 best teams in 6A.

 

Winner of that game will dismantle whoever survives the junior circuit.

The renewed competitiveness is a good thing. I do not hear the "separationists" wanting the "privates" tossed into a league of their own.

 

The final margin of victory was not nearly what I expected. The fact the Rocks did not crumble when trailing by thirteen in the second half is a huge positive.

 

I also appreciated the Male student section keeping their chants clean. "Daddy's money" always strikes me as funny. The same people the chant refers to are also generating the tax dollars to keep Male in existence. You are welcome!

Trinity in their opener scored 2 4th quarter TD's to win at Ensworth. It's not good to be behind late in a game but it is good to have the wherewithal to be able to pull out the win. This team seems to have it.

Just like last year's rematch proved to be the championship game. Not sure where stiff competition is going to come from in BG? But, lots of season left and crazy things can happen in high school football.

Might have been the largest crowd I've ever seen at The Rock.

It's funny to think that some actually thought that Belfry may have been better than Male this year. That question should be clearly be put to rest for anyone thinking that. Congratulations to Trinity on winning. I may have to make it down to Louisville for this game if it happens again in the playoffs.
