All this hate?! We must be doing something right! Go Birds!

If you don't know the difference between golf and running the score up in football then you sir Inwould be more Han happy to educate you.

The idea is the same. We teach kids from day one to give 100 percent when they compete. Then because of the way "winning" looks we expect them to let up. It goes against everything they have engrained in them. If you don't like the fact that a team could get smoked (like highlands did the other night) then give the officials the ability to call the game early. In boxing when you are whipped the ref can call it.

Stirring...stirring...stirring

So subs don't know how to take a knee?

I'm not saying I have a priblem

with what they did but at the same time don't get upset if people say he ran the score up because no matter who was on the field it was still running it up. You all act like subs are morons and coaching staffs are morons because they don't know how to teach victory formations and take a knee.

The excuse that HHS had subs in and would still score doesn't make sense. I've seen more football games than I could count and have seen other teams with backups in purposely NOT SCORE but I guess Dale wasn't a very good coach that didn't know how to teach his players how to take a knee and use sportsmanship. I thought Dale was a good coach, guess he couldn't even teach the basics.

Again, I could care less about running the score up but for the homers to say it wasn't running the score up when passes were still being thrown after being up 30 to 40 pts late in the game and still scoring, well if it smells like poop and looks like poop, it's poop so quit already with the denial, it makes you look silly.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I would NEVER ask my subs to take a knee until the final plays of the game. They are there to learn and play as well. If your first team can't stop a teams subs, then you have bigger issues than talking about running up scores. In almost every incident that HHS gets accused of running up scores, starter didn't even play in the second half. Are you proposing hhs should have put their 2nd and 3rd teams in and took a knee every possession or only ran it up the gut for intentional 3 and outs??? If I were the other team, that would tuck me off too. "What, now you're not even trying?" Then why play the second half?? Cause the other team would be gaining NOTHING from that strategy either. At least they were continuing to get tested, even if it was by 2nd and 3rd teams. At least the other team had opportunities to try some things and work experience with some of their other players. If HHS (with their subs) is running for intentional 3 and outs the entire second half, then the other team might as well just quit because then no one is getting anything out of it. But if HHS continues to play and scores another 3 touchdowns in the second half with subs (rather than the 7 they scored in the first half) aren't both sides at least gaining some experience on the field. Doing it your way, they might as well just call the game at half.

Now let me ask you then, was Ryle running up the score last Friday then? Did SK run it up a couple weeks ago against the teams the destroyed? Where's the outcry??? Those scores are just about the same as the scores posted on this thread! Let's look around the state scoreboard...how many of those teams are getting accused of running up the score? As a matter of fact, is Cooper now running up scores on their poor opponents?? It all became a myth because at the time HHS was just that much better than everyone in NKy.

And here's the other thing, you're talking about a team that was two classes lower running the score up on schools twice their size!!! Even if they were running the scores up at that time, is that the fault of the smaller school or should the larger school be doing something different??? Look in the mirror instead of pointing fingers!! That's the problem with today's society. It's easier to point fingers and blame everyone else than it is to fix your own problems!!!

I don't care how many games you've seen. You have never seen a team "take a knee" until late in the 4th. And it's a completely different animal when you are talking about getting young kids experience vs a pro team closing out a game. Apples and oranges.

And lastly, how many of the "run up the score games" we're you at. I'll answer for you, none! So how in the world can you even speak intelligently about ANY of the perceived games other than looking at final scores?

I just love how all these HHS experts come out of the closet and THINK they know all this stuff about HHS. When all they really know is hearsay from other parents from the past that were upset about the final score. It's the typical game of "telephone" that we all played in kindergarten where the story changes and exaggerates by the time it gets to the end. I can almost guarantee you that 98% of the people on here today never saw one of the blowouts that they like to accuse HHS of. Yet they still talk about it like they were sitting in the front row!

It's really hilarious how many HHS experts we have on here that have never been a part of the program or know an ounce of HHS history other than what some other non-HHS person thought they heard one day. Comical!!

Why so bitter? Let the past go, and enjoy your running clock win over the Birds. It may never happen again.

Bitter? Dont get it twisted, I really don't care. But the arrogance even in losing is oozing from Ft. Thomas. Most of you with the big mouths I've heard didn't even play much. So you guys want to take personal shots and expect me to just take it. Not the one, never have been, never will be. I wasn't

Trying to poke the cub. Haha what really could come from that. Nobody is allowed to talk about or comment on HHS without the keyboard gang getting nasty. I'm be your daisy. Let's start with this. Apparently the kids your trying to live vicariously through should be on the bench like you were. When I played in Cincy we never even heard of you because KY football was considered garbage. So check your ago at the Ft. Thomas border. I don't care about what others have done that you're trying to take credit for. Do something now. Like you said it's the past let it go. Enjoy the rest of the season, it will go by fast with half of your games being running clocks against you... Anything else you want to discuss.

Just call it what it was....running the score up period. I never said I have a problem with it. I just have an issue with the fact that some of you are so pigheaded you refuse to call it what it is. Don't tell us about what "is engrained" in Highkands players etc. they aren't any more special than any player in any other team.

All I was saying this entire time is call it what it is period. You can't do that so instead you are leading us to believe Dale was a moron and didn't know how to teach his players how to take a knee or to do what ever other coach in America does and know how not to run the score up. That's all I've been saying.

Run un the score up, I don't care. Just when it happens to your team who has done it for years, be a man and take your lumps and don't sit here and claim your team didn't do it for years when the facts point to it happening.

So you are saying all those years when backups came in after the game was well in hand that Highkands never threw a pass and only ran dive plays? Come on!!! Like I said I could care less either way but when daddy's in here try and say scores weren't ran up I have to laugh at the ignorance. Run the score up, I don't care, just don't lie about it and claim that wasn't the case.

Like me I said I've seen plenty of games

and have been on the sidelines when coaches tell their backups not to score

and take knees and just run the same play over and over again up the middle so not to run the score up. Now if you are saying Dale didn't know how to do that then he was a moron for a coach.

Just don't try and say when scores were being run up it wasn't running it up. It is what it is.

I I never said they shouldn't score if they break lose on a run, what I said is don't pretend it isn't what it is period.

How many touchdowns do you think we're being scored in these second halves. What most don't realize is most of the score in those blowouts were in the first half! There were many times the score was 5-8 TDs in the first half. Now look at the scores and tell me how much they were "running it up" in the second half.

Why is Cooper running up scores? Why did Ryle run up the score? Silly!

It's not engrained in just highlands players. It's everywhere, every sport and every team. Look at SK, they blow people out and no one says a word. It's part of the game.

So you are saying all those years when backups came in after the game was well in hand that Highkands never threw a pass and only ran dive plays? Come on!!! They ran their offense. Just like Belfry's #2s would do and everyone elses. It just looks worse when it is a spread throwing attack. If #3QB is throwing to a 3rd team WR and the other team still has JV starters/varsity rotational players in, whose fault is that?

... I'm happy teams like SK and Copper and Ryle have the ability to hang a running clock on teams around here. Hopefully it shows that they have the ability to represent Nky at state. I know that I root for what ever Nky team is playing

Again, I could care less if a score is run up. I have a issue when those who are fans of a team

that dies it tries and claim it wasn't running it up.

Also most teams when subs come in from one team the other subs out their starters also so don't act like it was always Highlands subs versus other team starters all the time.

Do me a favor and stop

making ignorant comments like I haven't been to any of those games. You haven't a clue.

Again, read what I've said this entire time. I could care less that Highlands ran the score up in the past. It was what Dale did period. No problem here at all. My problem is the holier than thou folks like yourself who claim it never happened.

They ran their offense. Just like Belfry's #2s would do and everyone elses. It just looks worse when it is a spread throwing attack. If #3QB is throwing to a 3rd team WR and the other team still has JV starters/varsity rotational players in, whose fault is that?

Run up the score who cares, the point is why are some HHS posters getting their panties twisted when they are on the wrong end of a lopsided game and started making little snarky comments? We took our lumps, take yours. Run it up when you can, get it back when it comes. Kids lives aren't ruined because they got blown out. No big deal. Stop denying it ever has been done like HHS was football saints. No biggie. Love the fact you guys can give but can't take.

Just call it what it was....running the score up period. I never said I have a problem with it. I just have an issue with the fact that some of you are so pigheaded you refuse to call it what it is. You tell me right now what game in the past that you are certain the score was run up on. Let's hear it. And tell us how you know for sure the score was run up. And don't tell me because you have a neighbor that played and said this and that. Again, that's hearsay. Tell me what the exact situation was when they are making this claim. Time left in the game. Actual score. Was it out 2nd team against their first? Every situation is different. You can't just generically label Every blowout and every situation the same. Unless you were there and can give details, it's all hearsay from "experts"! Ha ha ha

... I'm happy teams like SK and Copper and Ryle have the ability to hang a running clock on teams around here. Hopefully it shows that they have the ability to represent Nky at state. I know that I root for what ever Nky team is playing

I agree 110%

Just like when HHS was dominating, it was a great NKY showing.

That has never been an issue of mine. I love

seeing us do well.
