I would say DJ Eliot will be the person the blame if the first game is any indication. Not totally his fault as the offense has to help them out.

I agree 100%, if were talking about basketball, the story would be a bit different. But $12 million is hard to justify, especially if they have a good working relationship with each other.

For those that think Dawson was made the scapegoat by Stoops need to go back and review the threads from last year's games. Pretty much everyone on here would have helped Dawson pack his car at any point last year. The complaining about the play calling became a staple in the game threads. The offense was his responsibility and it was awful last year. Towles struggled getting the ball to the WR's and when he did they normally didn't catch it. The O Line had to be one of the worst in the country.

 

As far as this year goes, it's Stoops 4th year, no excuses. It's 100% on him. The offense looked really good in the first half but seemed like when S. Miss starting gain momentum everything started going wrong for UK.

 

At this point I really don't care what they do. I said in the game thread I was done with them and after having a few days to think about the game I really haven't changed my mind. I'm tired of getting geared up for these games to only be disappointed. Life's too short to be ticked off over a team that isn't changing.

Kentucky's had one good football team in my lifetime, in 1977 when Fran Curci's team lost 1 game and finished the season ranked number 6 in the nation. However, they were banned from a bowl due to NCAA violations. I'm not as knowledgeable about football as most on this site because my high school didn't have football and back in the early sixties when I first started watching games on our old black and white Zenith there weren't many games on the two channels we received. But I still watched or listened to the UK games and they lost back then and they're still losing. Oh, they've mustered up enough under a couple of coaches to go to a few minor bowl games, but that's about it.

I think any coach who would consider coming to Kentucky is committing coaching career suicide. UK just can't seem to get enough quality players, or have any kind of depth, to compete with the big programs. And now it appears they can't even compete with the little programs either. It's a broken record.
