September 5, 201610 yr What are you talking about? I believe 3 of Drews TD passes were 40 or more yards. You act like the defense got them the ball back in the red zone every time. Two of the three were because of YAC. Nothing against Drew.
September 5, 201610 yr Had a buddy, NOT @Clyde, send me a text when UK was up 35-10 and tell me "UK would smash your Huskers this year". Very proud of myself that I still havent replied to him. Fans are funny...I will never get two guys: a) smack-talk during the game guy; b) text your FRIENDS and enjoy when their teams lose guy. You ever hear of a grown man texting his daughter after a high school football game to smack talk? Neither did I until this past Friday night.
September 5, 201610 yr Two of the three were because of YAC. Nothing against Drew. The first one definitely was YAC. Beautifully executed play especially by the linemen getting downfield. I don't remember the other TD where there was a lot of YAC. For those who have watched Drew since high school we saw what we always have seen. He keeps plays alive. On at least two of the TD passes he was under pressure but used footwork to avoid the defender and then showed great arm strength. On one he was going left and threw back across his body (maybe that was the 2nd one you mentioned) and on the other he scrambled backwards and threw a dart off of his back foot to the back of the end zone. It's what he does best and, frankly, it's what got him in trouble on the fumble. He was trying to make a play. It's his DNA. He will definitely take more chances , for better or worse, than Pat did. He played well. Not perfect as the first fumble and the pick showed but relatively speaking he played really well.
September 5, 201610 yr UK defense gave up 17 points in the first half and 27 in the second half. (- 10 ) UK offense scored 35 points in the first half and ZERO in the second half. (-35 ) Most posts are railing on the defense (it's not good) but all the offense needed to do was make a few first downs, score once or twice and the result would have been different. Seems to me the offense is the side of the ball that let the team down the most in the second half.

You should win when you score 35 points in a game.
September 6, 201610 yr He has not praised the front 7 depth. It's been a concern all of spring and summer. Every team faces weaknesses somewhere that's football but UK is as deep as they have been in a decade across the board. Except for coaching.

The first half of any game is evaluation, the second half is adjustment. His last two opponents, Petrino and whoever the Southern Miss coach is, could made adjustments.

He played well. Not perfect as the first fumble and the pick showed but relatively speaking he played really well. Drew looked up on the first fumble and saw a wide open touchdown. He wanted it bad. Tried to get the gun loaded but CJ just didn't hold his block long enough (as Stoops pointed out in his presser). CJ holds that another second and it's 6. They will get that cleaned up. Drew always has his eyes down field. Made one real mistake according to Coach S and that was the shot he took on the pic. As you stated Clyde, he will take his shots because that's his game. Believe he is ranked 5th nationally in passer rating after week 1.
September 6, 201610 yr Deep in certain positions but not in the key positions on D. Brother you have a 5 star DT who still isn't in shape 3 years later. I think we found the reason why he went to UK. That's not accepted at Bama.
September 6, 201610 yr He has not praised the front 7 depth. It's been a concern all of spring and summer. But hes a great recruiter.
September 6, 201610 yr Brother you have a 5 star DT who still isn't in shape 3 years later. I think we found the reason why he went to UK. That's not accepted at Bama. Your arguments are not in response to what I'm saying. I'm saying there is not enough depth in the front 7. Pick apart any player in the front 7 you want. I'm saying there's not enough overall depth.

September 6, 201610 yr But isn't that coaching. They either didn't develop players, recruited the wrong players, or didn't think they might need some DL. You guys are talking about the "why." I'm just saying that someone claimed Stoops said they had depth. That's not true in the front 7. That's it.
