I do get a kick out of everyone that is suddenly a scholar in the history behind the National Anthem.

 

That said, I never pay much attention to the lyrics, just know that it gives me a sense a pride. Not sure where I would rank it among other National Anthems?

I like it...I was overwhelmed when I saw the flag that inspired the song.

 

I can't imagine the emotions a young Mr. Key felt waking and seeing the flag still flying.

I love the story in the song and the pride it let's you feel of generation after generation.

It's way better than Canada's which I bet you've heard a bunch in the last few years!

Me to, because you know, he is a legend.

I cant stand nearly all of todays music . I can do oldies , 70's rock , 80's pop , hard core rock , some folk , most country , old country , but todays hip hoppy / rap stuff is like fake coconut crunching between my teeth .

 

So if he is related to pop music no wonder I've never heard of him.

Folks, as UKMustang said, I'm flabbergasted that some of you haven't heard of John Legend. I'm a seventies music guy all the way, but I also watch the Superbowl. Were you folks watching "I Love Lucy" reruns during Superbowl 49 when Legend performed?
