Do You Like the" Star-Spangled Banner" ? John Legend Doesn't...

Science Friction
in Controversial Issues

Featured Replies

Legend is standing with Colin Kaepernick in his decision not to stand during the national anthem, calling the "Star Spangled Banner" "weak," and saying he doesn't "truly love" the song.

He tweeted: " For those defending the current anthem, do you really truly love that song? I don't and I'm very good at singing it. Like, one of the best. "

So, Legend is probably not a big fan of Francis Scott Key's songwriting abilities . What do you think about the song?

Love me some John Legend music.

If we're talking strictly looking at it from a musical/song perspective, I agree with him.

I like it because it's our nation's anthem, not because of any musical merits...

I also love his ego boosting in there. :lol2:

It's the National Anthem, not a love ballad. Why can't these idiots just shut up?

Im not going to google him to see who he is . Really I just don't care . If he stands with the misguided person that CK is ( on this issue) I dont wish to hear from him. So tweet away john ___ I forgot his last name already . And I don't tweet .

Not a fan of the song, hard to sing and you can't dance to it. Of course, that covers just about all national anthems.

LA Marseille is my fav.

Who cares what John Legend thinks.

Better yet, who is John Legend? Guess I'm going to have to google him.

The only thing fascinating about John Legend is his wife Chrissy Teagan.

Hating on our national anthem and wanting it to be something else is nothing new. I've heard people angling for "God Bless America" for years.

I don't agree.

It's not the catchiest tune in the world but I think it captures something special about the American spirit that I enjoy.

Mind blown that people don't know who John Legend is....

Bunch of old timers around here.

Didn't know who she was until I googled him a few minutes ago. :lol2:
