What will Mercer need to do to compete in this one? Will Central Hardin dictate what Mercer does, or does Mercer have enough top athletes in skill positions to hang with a very skilled and talented team, from the states top class? What say you?

Way to articulate, MrKnowNothing. The key for Mercer County will be to slow down senior RB Darius Barbour and to establish a run game against a tough Central Hardin 4/4 defense.

Is that the same back that they had last year?

I think Mercer County will surprise some people and pull off the upset. I think it will be a low scoring game and I think it will be very similar to the game between Boyle County and Central Hardin last year. 21-19, 19-17. Something like that. I think it will be a very good game. I think Mercer County and their defense earn some respect this weekend.

Way to base Central's strength on 12 returning seniors, HCP. I'll take Mercer by 10.

I feel good about Mercers ability to move the ball and score, but the defensive side of the ball is where I believe they have a lot to prove. The running game will depend largely on Gunnar's ability to connect on a few downfield passes. If this happens, look for MC to score in the 30's, if not it could be a struggle. I'm excited to see what Robbins will bring in his return to football and I fully expect D Smith and our running game to be solid. The kicking game should also be a strength.

I'm taking Mercer, 35-28
