I'm telling you, the sound and the feel of the car as it passed me was something waaay out of the ordinary and just shocking. I KNOW 140 is fast...this cat was going FAST.

 

I believe you. A long time ago I bought a used boat from the chief of police, I won't say what city. I had called him about the starter being bad on the boat that I just bought from him. He said "come on over and I'll take care of it." The next thing I know we are doing 120 mph on I 275 going over the bridge by old Coney to get the new starter at the marina. Still to this day I tell the old lady that he was trying to impress her. :lol2: I don't remember the type of car it was, but it was fast.

Scary.

I've been in a boat going 60 mph and that police cruiser at 120 mph. Very uncomfortable at those speeds, now at my age I would probably have a heart attack. :scared:

 

As for the bolded, watch cops, it never turns out good for the bad guys at those speeds on the police chases. :thumb:

140 is not out of the Question. Now in a police cruiser, don't think I would like that. Have been at this speed but not in a police cruiser. Would I do it again, heck no and especially what road I was driving on. It was a 1998 Lamborghini Countach on the AA Highway. Yeah I know, the Dumbest thing I have ever done.

 

Really don't like talking about it because of how Scary it really was after the fact. If anybody has every driven a car like that it doesn't take very long to get to that Speed. So I wasn't driving for like 15-20 miles. It was over very quickly like my life would of been.....Stupid! Getting upset right now just thinking back on how dumb that was......

 

Not a proud moment for me for sure but I wanted to clarify that 140mph is not out of the question....

Most police officers I know don't even have the opportunity to go this fast...state troopers on the other hand because of where their patrol areas take them probably find themselves in more high speed situations than typical law enforcement.

I've done 120MPH+ in a Mustang GT on the Cumberland Parkway on a few occasions...it's honestly not that scary if you are on a divided highway.

Maxima is a solid car, always has been. Every one I've ever driven impressed me, surprising power and handling...ultimate sleeper car. You can kill people at a red light with most Maximas.

Which tells me that it's definitely not out of the question this state trooper was going faster than 125, in an emergency vehicle that is equipped to do so if necessary. I just wish I had someone in the car with me to experience it. I'm quite sure my gf would have crapped herself.

Wonder why he was running Lights Only and no Siren? Maybe he was trying to hear radio if it was breaking up, could have been trying to hear another officer possibly.

That siren can wear on you. It can torture you over time but still no excuse.
