LIPTON BASH Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Trump bounces into the lead - CNNPolitics.com Trump takes a 5 point lead over Clinton. His favorability rating jumps from 39% to 46 %. He went from having 31% of independents to 46%. All good news and shoots down most the media's claim about the GOP convention. This was the biggest bump after a convention since 2000 according to CNN.
Clyde Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 We have a thread on this poll. http://bluegrasspreps.com/kentucky-national-politics/latest-cnn-poll-329673.html
LIPTON BASH Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I missed it sorry. I was shocked to read some of the numbers. Independents going to Trump in a large number was surprising. After hearing pundits downplay Trump's performance ir seems registered voters disagree. On a side note Johnsons over all numbers looked pretty good. If he could win over some Bernie support it will be a good year for a 3rd party.
75center Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Why don't we wait until after the Democrats convention, then see where the polls are at?
LIPTON BASH Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Why don't we wait until after the Democrats convention, then see where the polls are at? It was the headline on most political sites today and add in its the biggest jump since both Bush and Gore each received an 8 point bump in 2000. I thought that and some of the other data were worth talking about.
hidinout Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Why don't we wait til the democrats get favorable news before reporting any positive news about Trump ? Why WHY WHY ? LOL Gosh I hope he wins . And everyone that cant handle it can move to France Or Turkey or some Stan some where .
Clyde Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Interesting to read that they did not poll anyone 18-34 in this one. I read that they couldn't get enough of them to answer their phone. Page 20. http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2016/images/07/25/trump.clinton.poll.pdf

Jesse James Posted July 25, 2016 Author Posted July 25, 2016 After the news of how the DNC tried to rig this vs Bernie, if the people are smart there wont be a bump.

Page 20. http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2016/images/07/25/trump.clinton.poll.pdf That's a good point. Until pollsters start to call mobile phones, those numbers will continue to shrink...and even then I see less and less people being inclined to answer the phone to numbers they don't know. So many scammers calling everyday, it's just easier to not answer unknown numbers.

So many scammers calling everyday, it's just easier to not answer unknown numbers. It says they called 400 cell phones to 600 landlines. But you're right, people screening their calls or using cell phones exclusively, especially in young people, are the biggest obstacles to polling accuracy today.
PurplePride92 Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 After the news of how the DNC tried to rig this vs Bernie, if the people are smart there wont be a bump. I'll never understand the desire by supporters of one party to paint the supporters of another party as dumb.
mcpapa Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 I'll never understand the desire by supporters of one party to paint the supporters of another party as dumb. It's the nature of politics these days.

Heard a talking head discussing the recent Poll numbers showing Trump with a lead...I think they mentioned at least 3 times that Trump leads in white males without a college degree. The guy was more interested in talking about that than the actual polling results :lol2:
