OJ Mayo Dismissed, Disqualified from NBA

Featured Replies

Wow, the NBA is serious...

Article does not tell which drugs he used; however the list of prohibited drugs of abuse under the NBA's collective bargaining agreement are:

"amphetamines and its analogs, cocaine, LSD, opiates (heroin, codeine and morphine), and PCP."

OJ Mayo really messed up.

Hate to hear that.

Drugs are bad kids.

I remember watching him in high school many times. When he was at Huntington, they played Scott County and him and Bud Mackey were tearing it up. It's sad to see 2 guys with incredible talent lose a great opportunity to drugs

Bad timing with all the money they are throwing around right now.

...or ever.

^^^^^ that's potentially some serious coin he may miss out on.

Chris Andersen was suspended for 2 years and returned to the NBA and has played for 9 years after that. It will be interesting to see how determined OJ is to return to the NBA.

Wonder if he go over seas or just retire?

He's still young. I expect to see him back in the league.

I'm not saying he won't make it back but his window of opportunity will be small. His numbers were way down and I don't see much demand for a non shooting, shooting guard.
