July 28, 201610 yr Author I rest my case. Are you saying UofL is worse off because I'm not there, or that I don't know what I'm talking about because I haven't been there? :lol2:

July 28, 201610 yr Author I'm saying it couldn't be a much better place than when he took over if my man Deuce is no longer walking the campus. Well I certainly appreciate that. I do miss being there, campus continues to transform every year.
July 28, 201610 yr While Ramsey certainly has had his issues, UofL is in a MUCH better place than it was when he took over, in all facets. While I agree that the university has done a nice job in some respects, he has been allowed to survive one too many embezzlement schemes, near losses of certifications, and shady financial dealings. We're in the ACC now and that means access to a major research and educational collaborative in the ACC Inter-Institutional Academic Consortium. We need to clean up and earn our position in that fraternity. The next president needs to immediately focus on getting the house in order as UofL has a chance to do something special due to the new academic/athletic relationships. More important still, I hope the trustees find someone that understands the importance of the university's relationship to the community and not just as an entity unto itself.

July 29, 201610 yr A judge has blocked Bevin's new BoT, as of this morning. All part of Bevin's plans. He's rolling around the state acting like a king and doing this and that knowing full well that he can't be sued for everything. I don't know where this one will go, but I'm hopeful the Board situation is resolved quickly.

July 29, 201610 yr See, this is what worries me about Bevin and Trump and others who would run a city, county, state or country "like a business." Blustery CEO-types aren't used to having checks and balances against their unilateral actions.

Matt Bevin's move abolishing UofL - WDRB 41 Louisville News I don't approve of the governor's actions, but that cut-short headline is way more terrible than reality... it would really be something. All those KSR fans would finally be right.
